Alternative ending in TRU?

Hello, it's probably discussed, though, I can't find the thread...

So, if you don't mind I want to ask...

There is video with alternative ending, possible spoiler:

Lara and Amanda are walking through snowy place, and Amanda is trying to throw a stone on Lara. In that moment, Lara have take her gun, and shoot in Amanda's leg. After that, Lara is leaving the place, while Amanda is calling her name.

I just want to ask, is this some bonus feature, deleted scene or what?

For the love of Buddha, have you played the game? She hurt her leg when she was holding off Thralls as Lara stopped Natla; she fell off a ledge and landed on it, causing her to limp.

Maybe , but what if this video was supposed to be in the game , (that explaining why she limped) but cut-out and CD forgot (were to lazy) to edit the remaining cutscenes (this also explains why Amanda is so angry with Lara "I wanted to let it finish you off . . .").

When I first started reading this thread, I was like "...right, sure." But I just watched it! How Amanda's leg pretty much broke in half when she stood up made me cringe, lol. I'm kind of glad they didn't use this ending, though. It wouldn't really suit the rest of the game or Lara, even as angry and upset as she would have been at that moment.

I'd like to believe that too, however wasn't Amanda running perfectly fine when Natla shot her balls at her? I think CD had a choice of having Natla injure Amanda or having Lara do it, and in hopes of keeping Amanda alive for future sequels they went with the final one in the game.

It's possible in the PC version only, I put the file into the movie folder (C:\Program Files\Eidos\Tomb Raider - Underworld\Movie) and renamed it to intro.bik, then I opened the game, Extras>Movies>Teaser Trailer and voila, it's playing without the need of a bik player.

But maybe it's because Natla threw a fireball at her or something, because before that you see Amanda running from the thralls, which would be impossible with a bullet in your leg. What do you think? I have to agree that I'm glad this was cut.

Amanda would have had to be a complete idiot to try charging across snow carrying a rock over her head that way and assume she was she going to be able to sneak up on Lara before Lara capped her.

I don't understand why Lara would look upon Amanda with pity while pointing a gun at her head, then leave her there. If you're cold-blooded enough to leave someone bleeding in freezing temperatures, you're cold-blooded enough not to take pity on her. I might have bought it more if Lara's face didn't indicate that she could not pull the trigger, not that she chose not to because she wanted Amanda to suffer.

It also completely belittles the cooperation between Amanda and Lara in Helheim. I'd have felt cheated out of any resolution to see that, especially since it would have left us with Amanda and Lara still at each other's throats if Amanda survived.

Either way, I'm glad it wasn't in there.

Maybe they dropped it because of those inconsistencies. I mean...she didn't limp in any scene until Natla threw that fire ball at her. I really don't think that this scene was before Helheim. Because the original version for Helheim was that you first drive to Jan Mayen with the bike. Then there is the second ship level and then you come back to the island and drive to the coordinates Natla gave you. Then the cutscene with Lara blowing a hole into the ice starts, etc.
So I guess this was really supposed to be the ending.

I don't think so. The physics of the cutscene are almost identical to that of TRU, so unless someone has the TRU engine to use and make this - then yes, I guess it could be fan made. But is that likely? Um.. no. The whole location is very similar to Jan Mayen Island as.. well, it's full of snow - and it's snowing. Wow, so it's also similar to a hell of alot of other places to? I don't know.

I think it's a Pre-Alpha, and scrapped cutscene. Eric or someone has said before, all Cutscenes where pre-rendered for the game. Oh and about the short hair, I'm pretty sure it's long. But since the cutscene is Pre-Alpha.. it's buggy? .. and I'm sure Amanda's hair is in her skull. Does this a few times in the actual game. Just sayin' :).

It would be possible...although...it looks pretty much like it's ingame. Not rendered in a 3D editing program. I do think this is real. Besides, Amanda's got the short hair from early concept arts.

Definitely couldn't be before Helheim because she could move fine until she fell over and twisted her ankle. Plus, the way that leg moved? No way she'd be walking after it.
