Hey

I don't know if I already popped this question on this forum (and if I did - I'm sorry for repeating myself) but I was wondering ... what is the ónly correct way (and thus the healthest way to keep your country absolutly smoothly-going) to upgrade your videocard drivers, please?

I mean: I just downloaded the latest NVIDIA-driver for my videocard and rather than just installing that latest one, I was thinking to myself: "Wouldn't it be better to first uninstall the previous ones and only thén install the latest one?"

In short: if I just install that latest driver, won't it cause any problems overwriting the previous ones? I know that if I do thát - I won't be able to roll back to a previous videocard driver but if it's in fact healther for my computer? I'd definitely choose that option.

Thank you! :)

Bye for now

For Nvidia drivers it's not a problem to install over the old ones. BTW, you'll be able to revert to older anyway :)
I can't remember if I uninstalled Nvidia drivers prior upgrading to newer ones.

Hey

Thanks for your quick reply. So: I'll just install the latest driver. I hope the Tomb Raider: Underworld problem is hereby fixed (you know: the stalling-thing?) but I somehow doubt it.

One more thing: you say that I'll be able to revert the older drivers anyway - even if I install the latest ones (which is driver number 181.22) over the older ones, but if I delete the very folders in my Windows Explorer: D:\NVIDIA\Win2K (holding 175.19 and 178.24) and WinXP (holding 181.20) then I won't be able to revert these, right? :o)

I ask this just so I know I shouldn't touch any of those folders mentioned above. ;D

Thanks you

Nope. Windows caches the drivers in system location. Where... you'd better know not ;)
Fact, if you have installed them you are able to revert to them after update even if you've deleted the initial installation files.
