Hey everyone.

This is the new general Madonna thread, the old one is fast gathering dust, and
I think now that the Hard Candy era is over, we should be able to start a new
thread, that is much easier to sift through when necessary. As some of you may
know, Madonna is back on tour for the europeans only this time around, so I
really hope you fans can manage to get a ticket and hop along to see the Queen
on her throne live this time over.

Upcoming/Recent Madonna :

- The Sticky and Sweet Tour is to continue. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sticky_%26_Sweet_Tour).
- I am because we are - has been debuting all over the world in the last 12 months. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Am_Because_We_Are)
- Madonna has been the star of the recent Louis Vuitton handbag ads. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_Vuitton)
- Simply Madonna ( outfit exhibition ) is taking place early this year. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simply_Madonna:_Materials_of_the_Girl)

I hope this is enough to keep you all appetized at the moment. More info soon :D

Should I hide the fact that I am currently wearing mine ? LOL

I hope she drops Human Nature for Dress You Up :)
Ray of ****e can go, it's awful, but my mum is dying to hear it live lol.
Hung Up can stay :) I want her to add the songs she rehearsed though mind you :

- Open Your Heart ( instead of Spanish Torture )
- Justify My Love ( Waiting )
- Impressive Instant / Burning Up
- Waiting
- Something else which I forget lmao.

ROL was supposed to be the album version aswell.

scion05

She'll probably never do it again, it's about her ex-husband :(
I want to hear You'll See live again.

So if you should ever doubt
Wonder what love is all about

Those whispered in your ear

Classic Madonna is good, but it ended with Ray of light (her last good album)

True Blue is an amazingly cute song, i absolute love it. But yeah, like Skee-on said, its about Sean Penn. :(

Should I hide the fact that I am currently wearing mine ? LOL

Oh, i have the Impressive Instant /Burning up demo, but i didn't even know she rehearsed Justify My Love and Open Your Heart!

OYH would fit perfectly along with Into the groove, with madge working the pole. :D

Yep, Open Your Heart was were Spanish Lesson is now I think :)
Shame really, Spanish Lesson is absolutely awful. I hope she adds express yourself aswell. Some part of me hates
the whole Candy Shop opening, even though I do like it.

Actually no :cln: Any good?

It's fantastic. We all clapped to it in Cardiff, well, when I wasn't laughing at her
pointless guitar work on that one.

Yeah, the opening is cool and all, but it doesn't make you go WOW like the CT opening. I mean, when that disco ball hatched....oh my god..

Did Hung Up work well in person?

Yes, brilliant. 4 Minutes you could of heard a pin drop, and you could
see it in her face that she knew that people hated it.

Right, I'm off to bed, sleep well ! xxxx

george_croft

4 minutes is stupid, lol.

Night hun, sleep well! :)

I like Madonna, but she needs to stop spreading eagle at every chance she gets!

Get Into the Groove is my favourite Madge song... never really listened to any of her 90's stuff. I like Hard Candy, though. (No, that wasn't supposed to be dirty.)

george_croft
03-02-09, 22:39
I lie Hard Candy, though. (No, that wasn't supposed to be dirty.)

It's fine here babe, we won't judge you. :D

Her 90's stuff is kind of different from her current work. Everything between Erotica (1992) and American Life (2003) was very experimental, and different from her earlier work. None of the albums are pure dance records, but they've got some of the most inspiring songs of her career.

Confessions Of A Dancewhore and Hard Candy resemble the 80's era a lot.:)

Good to know! And I was supposed to say "like". *Edits* :D

Interesting... I might look into them. Madonna is an artist who I immediately associate with the 80's, so I think that's why I can't really remember her 90's stuff.

Which is how it should be. :D Her music in the 80's was great.

scion05
04-02-09, 19:36
If you would like to give the 90's ago, try out Something To Remember
or Ray of Light. Something to Remember is a ballad compilation, some from the
80's, or Ray of Light, which is just incredibly experimental :)

So Skee-on, who're you going with? (except Jamie-lee C)

I just checked out the ticket limit per person, and its 6, which is GREAT because we're exactly six people going. We're probably gonna be a group of 10-15 people together, though. :)

scion05
05-02-09, 21:08
I'll tell you tomorrow morning if I get the chance what I get... and just Jamie-lee C.
The UK limit is 4 tickets per show. :) I'm so happy you can finally go and see this tour, I know how gutted you were last time

scion05
07-02-09, 15:40
Well, I got the upper tier 203 block, which I'm totally happy with actually.
I saw the show from about 10ft off the end of the catwalk the last time,
so now I can see the " whole show ", and maybe bootleg the audio :whi:

Its.

****ing.

Impossible.

[edit] oh great, the server just crashed.

Domino
09-02-09, 16:40
Yep, me and my sister couldn't get tickets either. :(

george_croft
09-02-09, 16:55
Well that sucked. Most of the tickets got sold to idiots who're just buying purely for the joy of selling them three times the price on ebay.

They were all sold out in a matter of minutes, but i don't really care because I'm going anyways. I don't care if they're all sold out, I've already made up my mind. I am going.

scion05
13-02-09, 22:45
What happened to your guaranteed GC tickets ?

There's two dates for Sweden now anyway :D

Domino
13-02-09, 22:49
Oh. My. God.

Forget what I said before... I got tickets! Okay, they aren't the best seats int he house, but I'm going to see Madonna! (Again... I saw her in Maidstone last year. :)) I couldn't be happier right now!

george_croft

Oh, to make a long story short: My boyfriend's friend who had a contact at live nation called in the morning and said he couldn't get a hold of the woman at LN, and that we should buy the tickets through Ticnet. Ticnet obviously didn't work, but we then got tickets online for almost double the price. I arrenged a meeting with the seller later this week, but this thursday Nicklas (bf's friend) called and said she's doing a second show and asked if we wanted tickets for that one instead.

So yeah, I've got tickets for the second show now. 5 golden circle and 3 great seats at the side of the stage. I'll be in GC, of course. :D

scion05
13-02-09, 23:29
GC is brilliant, in Cardiff me any my friend got eye contact, ( we weren't that close, about 6 peeps back ), but hey, she noticed us TWICE :D Enjoy yourself :) I'm glad to be seeing the show from further back though this time, more relaxation, less strained necks and achy legs :D

I can't believe it's been nearly 3 years since the Confessions tour began,
wow... I'd actually almost forgotten about this classic performance. Beautiful
song, great vocals, and a really touching interpretation.
