In Texas.

Terrified onlookers were heard screaming when the mysterious "fireballs" were filmed mid-morning on Sunday.

They were captured by television cameras recording a marathon in the state capital Austin.

No one has explained where the debris has come from, amid numerous reports of sightings to the Federal Aviation Administration.

Anyway, this is interesting ! Could be the first signs of a coming alien invasion. :p

but the bits of the satellites is a more reasonable answer.

I've heard of hailstones, but fireballs! It does say in the article it could have been from the satalite collision, but it could also be that the two incidents are seperate. I wouldn't want to be outside in that kind of 'storm'.

I saw those pics in the times :p

At first I did think it was to do with the satellites colliding (until the article told me I was wrong :))
But yeah, space is just full of junk.

Depending on the size I would not think it's part of satellite remains. I haven't seen the video footage yet. But I did hear on the news that they (forgot the agency name maybe nasa?) thought it was satellite parts but then said it was not so they're not sure what it could be.... I'm having flashbacks of TR3 :whi:

Ohhh ok I just saw it... well I don't think that is part of a satellite... unless it grows larger as it accumulates fire when going down the atmosphere. But I would think the atmosphere would burn it to little pieces. That thing was large. And I don't think satellites are that big much less a piece of it.
