:D

Who doesn't love to look back at their old pictures and say "wow!! I remember that!!" or "wow!! I don't remember that!!" At any rate, I know there is a thread about cam whoring, but I thought it would be cool to see some older pictures from you peeps, some pictures that highlight the greatest (or worst) moments of growing up. I've personally compiled a photobucket album that I have entitled "Evolution" as it shows how I have evolved from a little baby:
http://i383.photobucket.com/albums/oo279/stryderjones/evolution/1.png

into something resembling this (although this picture is a bit old):
http://i383.photobucket.com/albums/oo279/stryderjones/evolution/thanksgiving.jpg

and who can forget the crowning achievement in any young man's life, the day he graduates from High School, the day he thought would NEVER come in a million years?
http://i383.photobucket.com/albums/oo279/stryderjones/evolution/graduation.jpg

And lets not forget about learning to ride a bike!!
http://i383.photobucket.com/albums/oo279/stryderjones/evolution/bike.jpg

Just going through all these old pictures brings back floods of memories...
So how bout it folks? Anyone else care to let us in on your past? I know I look forward to seeing more about you guys!!

Awwww, what a cute, little baby you were! I like the ones with the skate board, and the one with the house (and roads) of cards - you look so proud. :)

I don't have many on my PC to share, but here they are:

very cute little baby you were as well.. you look shocked about something!! and WOW that is a HUGE .... icicle, almost as big as you

Jackles, you were quite the attractive young lady!

yeah... I had to scan a lot of my pictures as well... we obviously didn't have digital cameras back then :vlol: My mom seems to hang on to a LOT of old stuff though.. even an old clipping from the newspaper she used to work at where someone wrote a little "poem" about me using a spoon.

Aw, don't feel bad (or anything of this sort) ! It is an interesting thread, and its pleasing to see you.
You look great btw and so do the others, Gabi and Jackles. I'd love to contribute myself, but I don't have access to a scanner.

Edit: And I think if there's anything worth keeping as a memory is how you concurred the hardships you've gone through and became a healthy and great person. :tmb:...that I think is worth a thousand pictures. :tmb:

I most likely was.
In those days the photographer still disappeared under a big dark cloth, he probably scared me half to death.
I guess poor mum would have to change my nappy afterwards. :p

A nice idea! I haven't got a lot of old pictures though, and unfortunately I haven't got most of my own pictures either right now because I'm not at home this week, but here goes.

http://files.noctifer.net/trf/memories/01 parents.jpg

1970: These are my parents, getting married.

http://files.noctifer.net/trf/memories/02 born.jpg

1985: That's me after birth, when I first met my brother and sister, the latter of which had to be stopped from poking my eye out as you can see.

http://files.noctifer.net/trf/memories/03 home.jpg

Probably around 1980: Here we have the lovely home I grew up in, right next to a park that needed some time to grow as you can see, but did so soon enough for me to play in :p

http://files.noctifer.net/trf/memories/04 gramps.jpg

Probably late 1980's: my dad's parents, my father, my siblings and me playing a game.

http://files.noctifer.net/trf/memories/05 holiday.jpg

Probably early 1990's: We went to the sea every year in the summer, first in the Netherlands, later in Portugal.

http://files.noctifer.net/trf/memories/06 dahok.jpg

2004: Skipping to high school, this is the group of friends I mostly hung out with (best friend unfortunately missing), at the place we had reserved to ourselves. Of course there were different clicks, who had their own places, and this was ours. However we weren't always allowed to be there (we sort of had a deal to be allowed to stay there anyway, but it still wasn't always okay). I'm the one standing up, at the left.

http://files.noctifer.net/trf/memories/08 c2 reunion.jpg

2005: So, this was the other place we occupied in the school building. This picture was taken at a 'reunion': me (leaning elbow against the wall) and the guys decided to visit our school again one year after we left.

http://files.noctifer.net/trf/memories/09 pool.jpg

2004: Playing pool was one of our most common past times together.

http://files.noctifer.net/trf/memories/10 diploma.jpg

2005: Me at the high school graduation ceremony. Perhaps I should have cleaned my shoes...

http://files.noctifer.net/trf/memories/11 honours.jpg

2006: Me (third from the left) doing an exercise at the "Honours Weekend", a weekend arranged by the university's Honours Programme to let the students get to know each other.

http://files.noctifer.net/trf/memories/12 honours weird.jpg

... in multiple ways.

http://files.noctifer.net/trf/memories/13 dp.jpg

2006: Because me and my high school friends formed a gaming clan (for the game DOOM, which we all played online), we kept meeting up at least once a year when the clan had its anniversary. This is me (right) and the clan at a MacDonalds.

http://files.noctifer.net/trf/memories/14 meph.jpg

2007: As the clan grew bigger, we also attracted people from abroad, which led to a lot of travelling back and forth. Here you see me (left) and my Finnish girlfriend (who I also met through this clan :D) visiting an Estonian member.

http://files.noctifer.net/trf/memories/15 drag.jpg

2007: And this is a Slovenian member (not actually pictured), his friends, and my girlfriend visiting me.

http://files.noctifer.net/trf/memories/16 finns.jpg

2008: More clan members, Finnish ones with me visiting them, while eating kebab, after day 1 of a LAN.

http://files.noctifer.net/trf/memories/17 nz.jpg

2004: Travelling to meet those people is great. Travelling in itself is great too :D That's me in New Zealand (would have had a better picture if I had my hard drive with me).

http://files.noctifer.net/trf/memories/18 fi.jpg

2005: And in Finland, the country I have probably visited most of all, because of my girlfriend living there. Other countries were Wales, Norway, Luxemburg, Denmark, Scotland, Portugal, Germany, Belgium, New Zealand and France - soon to also be the US and Ecuador.

http://files.noctifer.net/trf/memories/19.jpg

2005: Travel is a great combination with my main hobby: photography.

http://files.noctifer.net/trf/memories/20 jiu.jpg

2005: Another hobby of mine has been Jiu-Jitsu. Unfortunately, because I had to move out of town for my studies, I have never reached the black belt - but I'm still intending to. :p (Note: brown is just before black :()

http://files.noctifer.net/passphoto.png

2006: The picture currently on my resume.

http://files.noctifer.net/trf/memories/21 gramps.jpg

Travel is awesome, I think when (if) I ever start to make serious money, a serious amount of that will be invested in seeing the world.

The US has a lot of great sights... A friend of mine has hitch-hiked over serious distances through Europe. Perhaps that's an idea for you? Arrange to stay at a friend's, and it'll hardly cost anything - assuming cost is the biggest problem for you.

I don't have many photos of me as a kid, they all went missing (presumed destroyed) after my parents' divorce. Here's the only one I can find, taken when was about 4-5 (I'm the one in purple):

http://photos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-sf2p/v336/139/115/502409528/n502409528_1285821_2626.jpg

Jumping to when I was about 14, playing in the snow with one of my doggies who died last year:

http://photos-d.ll.facebook.com/photos-ll-snc1/v319/139/115/502409528/n502409528_1243795_5218.jpg

Not sure how old I was, but here I am on holiday in Florida with my little sister (who oddly enough, is taller than me):

http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-sf2p/v196/139/115/502409528/n502409528_779080_3141.jpg

I was about 15 here, on holiday with my family in Menorca:

http://photos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-sf2p/v196/139/115/502409528/n502409528_779006_9017.jpg

This is when I finished school in 2002, I'm the blonde at the back:

http://photos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-sf2p/v196/139/115/502409528/n502409528_779081_3453.jpg

I was 17 here, and I'd just started clubbing. Where did all my hair go?

http://photos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-sf2p/v196/139/115/502409528/n502409528_778998_6868.jpg

I was about 18 here, we all used to hang out in a really rough pub called the Highbury. It's closed down now :(

http://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-sf2p/v164/139/115/502409528/n502409528_588771_4152.jpg

This is from around 2005/2006, in the same club as I was pictured in earlier. We used to hang around there a lot, but it burned down in 2007 :(. Maybe I should stay away from public houses?!

http://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-sf2p/v184/139/115/502409528/n502409528_588715_8843.jpg

This is from 2007, when I was about to leave Alton Castle as a volunteer (you could only work there for a year). We were messing about when we were meant to be tidying up:

http://photos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-sf2p/v107/139/115/502409528/n502409528_178726_1359.jpg

This is one of the most recent pics of me and my bloke, taken last week at Alton Towers:

http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v2379/139/115/502409528/n502409528_2195895_1199.jpg

and then there is work. back when I was working, it was very rare to get a day off. In fact, I had to work over 1 year to get a "vacation" check, but I ended up working through that "vacation" so that I could get paid more money. I needed it. That's one of the worst things about having an hourly job - you have to be present to get paid. Salaried workers can take as much time off as they need as long as the job gets done - and still get paid. I envy that.

But it goes to prove that even if people "were the same" society would use the slightest differences to fight about.

If it isn't skin color, religion, etc. it's SOMETHING like being gingah

Ginger used to be somthing good, in the middle east people dyed there hair Red in honor of religious figures, and Achillies had red hair in the original Iliad.

Didn't you post it already somewhere? Yeah, that's kickass. What always intrigues me though is how people manage to make their way around objects with hair on their faces - I can never manage and I like having hair on my face  (not to be confused with facial hair for some reason)

You and me both! It seems very fashionable these days to completely cover one eye with hair... Why on Earth would you do that? Is that even allowed in traffic? o_O
