Um.. does The Legend of Sleepy Hollow count?

I pick that one, and Aladdin and the original Little Mermaid.

(I dig the original morbid versions as much as the kosher ones, haha.)

If it counts I would totally choose Beren and Luthien's story as my absolute favourite (it's from Tolkien's "The Silmarillion").

But if this is for more traditional fairy tales, then the Little Mermaid is probably my favourite. Not the Disney version, obviously, but the original one by Hans Christian Andersen.

Shrek is a lovely fairytale. I love the moral of the story, with the whole; "Outer image doesn't matter. It's what's inside." is such a beautiful thing to teach children instead of this whole Sleeping Beauty business.

Hellboy II : The Golden Army is amazing. It's full of such amazing, odd creatures and the storyline is just flawless. I love the humor added and the characters are beautifully designed. The Angel Of Death's costume is stunning:

The Nightmare Before Christmas, is just plain amazing. :)

1. The Little Match Girl (H.C. Andersen)

I love the Little Match Girl. That was always my favorite of his stories, I remember reading that when I was really young and it always made me tear up. I had a Hans Christian Anderson book with lot’s of his tales together but the match girl was always the one that suck out in my mind the most.

The one that sticks in the head the most is Little Red Riding Hood. I think at the time I used to be read that when I was younger, there was a movie around called "The Company of Wolves". And that was a bizarre variation of Little Red Riding Hood. I dunno, I just appreciate the fairy tales that are more "dark" and that could be interpreted with a strong sense of a dark atmosphere. :)

Another one is Rumpelstiltskin too. I loved that little fella.

I can't decide on 3, there are simply too many.
I do love the Hans Christian Andersen tales, though, The little mermaid, The matchstick girl, Thumbelina, The ugly duckling.........
And Grimm's tales: Faithful John, The 3 little men in the woods, The goose girl at the well.
Actually, here is a link: http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~spok/grimmtmp/

Oh, and I am talking about the original versions of the fairy tales, not some film (by Disney or anyone else).

I love Hans Christian Anderson! Even his life story is really sweet and funny.. when he used to go to bed, he'd put up a sign that said "I'm not dead, i'm just sleeping" because he was afraid he'd be mistaken for dead and buried alive. :p
