Am i the only one that's just a little bit annoyed that the enemies in Lara's Shadow are going to be all thralls, again? You know, seeing as how Lara controls them and the doppelganger is working for her, don't you think they should be backing off the doppelganger? Don't you think CD should maybe have thought this out a little more, made some new enemies to help better fit the story? Just throwing it out there, i'm really really sick of these stupid thralls.
I kinda agree with you, it does get boring after a while fighting the same enemys all the time, especially thralls..

I'm sick of them too, but, what other enemies would there be in hellheim?
Well the way I look at it, we are lucky to have the dlc so if it is thralls..so be it. Next game there should be some new enemies....ummm like dinosaurs...oops....yetis....oops....wolves....ahh h never mind. ;)

well at least you might get to fight Natla. Assuming they don't cop out and make her THRALL NATLA!!
Or they'll make the fight with her a quick time cutscene :p

It would have been cool if lara sent the thralls with doppel to mutilate natla... :mis:

The Doppelganger is a thrall now too and she still looks the way she did before. Amelia was there for decades and only half-decayed, so I'm sure thrall Natla would look the same as she did before she fell into the Eitr.
Um, thrall Natla against thrall Doppel. Kinda scary. Would they be equally matched or is Natla still able to fly and use her fireball power? Will Doppel have a chance? :yik: If we get to play it, that would be one adrenalin inducing fight sequence.
But I don't like the thralls either, very tedious and over done. But really what other enemies would there be in Helheim? One good thing is that it looks like Doppel has some cool ways to dispose of them. ;)

So much complaining and your getting so much more than us:rolleyes: anyways, Lara sent The Doppelganger back to helheim to "make sure natla suffers" there wasnt anything else but thralls in helheim before, i dont think thered be anything more this time around.

How do thralls not fit the story? The doppelganger is either in Helheim or some other Underworld close by so it is protected by the dead. Lara is no where in sight and is hardly going to trust a thrall with the eitr device, so why should the thralls in the level behave any differently. They seem to fit just fine to me, if you are sick of them do not play it.

I'll preface this statement by saying I am going to enjoy the level regardless of this detail. That said, it doesn't make too much sense why the thralls would attack the Doppelganger. In Underworld the thralls did not attack each other, only Lara. Now Beneath the Ashes established that the Doppelganger has become a thrall, so why would the other thralls attack her?

Well it's a good question. Maybe they confused her with Lara. But doesn't make much sense either.

Well, thralls are what you can expect since the environment is for thralls. Lizards are for jungles. Certain enemies appear in certain environments. A mix will just look terrible. It's just like in Zelda. :D

You have a good point. I'm not exactly buying the DLC for the story, though :p The gameplay is what I'm interested in, and if the story is decent too then that's a nice bonus. Either way though, I loved the gameplay in Beneath the Ashes and now the Lara's Shadow footage looks extremely promising as well.
I'll be getting it to see what happens in the end, and for the gameplay as well.

I think Lara has to be near each thrall and say the magic words before she can control it. She had already said the words once when the Doppelganger tried to attack her. The Doppelganger didn't start following her orders until Lara said the words again right in the Doppelganger's face. I assume that Lara only controls the thralls she has directly met and spoken the words to.

That's a good theory. I wonder if Lara's Shadow will mention that or just leave it up to our imaginations why the thralls would attack one of their own.
I'll be getting it to see what happens in the end, and for the gameplay as well.
I'm definitely interested to see where the story goes, don't get me wrong. I'm just saying that from the very start I've been extremely excited about the gameplay so that's my main concern right now and I won't mind too much if the story leaves some gaps for us to fill in ourselves :)

I think I know why the other thralls attack her, 1, they could be sexist, 2 Thralls are made to be Guardians of Thors treasures (or according to the nintendo DS version of the game, but it makes perfect sense to me) and if The Doppelganger isnt protecting thors treasures, she's gonna get attacked.
im sorry if this is in the totally worng place but i really couldnt find anyway to put it
recently got my hands on the latest tomb raider
really looking foward to playing it because ive been there from the start of it all played them all finished them all
i got to the 4th level and i had to put it down in anger because im not happy with this one at all
fair enough the graphics are stunning and the storyline (so far) seems to be a cracker but the amount of bugs in the game is just shameful ive seen enimies floating in the sky with no movement in them the amonut of times ive pressed her where to go one way and she does the opposite thing the amount of time ive been stuck in the graphics too. this was a one off but i was pressing right to get my other gun out and it used my last medipack instead! and how much can she fall coz ive fallen off the tiniest things and she dies its just pathetic! its so predictable too (eg) when enimies turn up its just seems like theyve rushed it a little bit to get it out for christmas. i could go on all night but im not here to **** the game off, im here becuase i wanna know if anybody else here feels the same
i will finish the game even if i do end up with no hair left i think im on the 6th level now so wish me luck :)
tbh to sum it all up its a bit of a let down
