Tomorrow, Eidos is launching another downloadable episode, called "Lara's Secret," for Tomb Raider: Underworld, but at the same time the publisher will also roll out a "title update" for the main game to fix some bugs. You don't have to buy the "Lara's Secret" DLC to receive the update; it should be added to your system the next time you play the game while you're connected up to Xbox Live.
According to Eidos, here's what the update will fix:
• Improved jump targeting for pillar jumps in TRU
• Fixed a ledge corner transition problem from TRU where Lara could end up stuck on a ledge.
• Fixed a series of bugs from TRU where activating the PDA during the transition back to the main menu could lead to a crash.
• Improved Lara’s edge detection for TRU.
• Made General CPU performance improvements by reducing cache misses and improving trigger volume detection code. Performance gains were significant for LS, and slightly improved for BTA and TRU.
• Fixed a bug where the removal of an MU that contained downloadable content packs (costumes) could lead to a notification dialog being stuck on screen.
• Disabled Tomb Raider Legend cheats which were inadvertently included into TRU and could lead to numerous crash situations (infinite health caused Lara to be able to swim out of the bright blue liquid (“thrall ether”), and end up falling out of world.
• Fixed a condition where small memory leaks were building up fragmentation in the heap. This could theoretically have caused numerous “random” crashes over very long play sessions where the player did not transition from one level to the next.

Its not that the cheats are needed just that they are a nice bonus to have when exploring levels for other things rather than just completing them. Just nice to have the option thats all. Shame they have to go take the ball away :(
Another update, the pillar targeting is indeed needed.
I wish they added a costume selection for the Med Sea, we finally have bikinis, but we can't use them on the best place for them (Treasure Hunt doesn't count)

Fixed a series of bugs from TRU where activating the PDA during the transition back to the main menu could lead to a crash.
They knew my bug. Good job! It usually happens when there is lack of space after Lara climbs up onto something, and then you switch to the PDA.
I am actually surprise they fixing these bugs.
Anyway, I bet they didn't fix
- Utility light/PLS bug (happens in Treasure Hunt and even in Beneath the Ashes)! Also, it happens in the Croft Manor when you drop down to see a cutscene and then through to the tech room.
- Bug when activating a cutscene and loading a game at the same time leading to a CRASH! Poor timing issues there...

i guess it means how lara does the "stumble" animation over a ledge would be fixed, because sometimes she would get stuck in a repeated loop of that animation. and since this patch would be available without lara's Shadow, i hope they will be implemented along with the ps3 trophy patch. :o
Edge detection probably means when she gets too close to an edge and "wobbles". Often in TRU she's wobble far too soon when there was no need and mess up all your timing. I think they've attempted to fix that somewhat.

It was up at 10 pm I believe here, so that's why I was confused. So that means it should still be the same for everyone right? It's only 7 here so that would mean 3 hours.
Plus just because BtA came out then doesn't mean this one will.:)

All I know is that tombraider.com says 03/10/2009 (Tuesday, March 10, 2009)
This means it might come out midnight/overnight or the latest March 11. Would be dumb to change the date to something else.

It was online first on Australias's marketplace first, then it was added to the EU, but just a few minutes later.
What I meant before is that LS should be avaible aorund the same time as BtA, not that every marketplace is updated at the same time ;)

As reliable as ever l see, l expect a 3rd dlc level now called Lara's Secret, where she can use ether on the thralls to put them to sleep.
While l appreciate someone is still working on improving the game its a pity the Xbox 360 players have to loose what few cheats we did inadvertently get, l trust the next update is going to include TRU cheats to make up for it. l am glad PC updates are optional because l am keeping my PC cheats unless l am offered something to replace them. :mis:

lol same here even though there is a slim chance that the bug fixes and cheat removals will be included in the trophy patch for the ps3......:p

see the cheats made it fun cus i found it funny swimming in eitr, and also repeatedly jumping over enimies and being pushed around by enimies. cant they make a download with cheats on it. how else am i ment to have fun playin tru now? why did i have to download it. but it is awsome(Y) but it sucks that the cheats are gone now>:( ;0
Cheats don't make a game fun. No one else seems to be having a panic attack over it. Besides, there were glitches when the cheats were activated, the worst being that if you enable the Invincibility code and fall into the Eitr in Helheim, you can't get out.

Cheats don't make a game fun. No one else seems to be having a panic attack over it. Besides, there were glitches when the cheats were activated, the worst being that if you enable the Invincibility code and fall into the Eitr in Helheim, you can't get out.
Turning the cheat off would kill Lara if she was stuck in the eitr so it was easy enough to get out, it was when she fell through the graphics that caused the problem. Just as it did in the demo when we were exploring places the player was never meant to go. l had to restart the console quite a few times before l got that light puzzle completed in the demo. The cheats were great fun, but l can understand why Crystal Dynamics wanted to put a stop to them, they could have left the one shot kill one in there though.
Has anyone else experienced difficulty accessing Lara's Shadow once downloaded? At first it wouldn't download or restart and I had to delete the partial file. Now I finally got it downloaded and installed, I can't work out how the heck I'm mean to access it.

You need to run Underworld then on the main menu, go to downloaded content or something and select the mission.
Yeah I know, it's not there. Beneath The Ashes is fine, but no Lara's Shadow.

I played Lara's Shadow up to the Croft Manor cutscene, and put it aside for a couple of days. (In the meantime I have also watched through to the end of the game on YouTube.)
I returned to the game today, and I am having my... butt handed to me in the first room after the cutscene! Three Thralls, one Yeti.
I'm getting battered to pieces. I can kill a couple of enemies, but then I have to run around trying to evade while my health sloooowlyyy updates. I get caught by a lowly thrall who delivers a killing blow...
...and then have to start the whole thing over again.
I thought this mission was fun, but not so much any more. Combat against multiple foes was NOT this difficult in the first half of the game. NOWHERE NEAR THIS DIFFICULT. And since I've watched the rest of the game, I know how I'm going to be swarmed in the near future.
What is the "trick" that I didn't need to succeed in the first half of the game?

Yeah that part was a bit hard, but i got threough it by just beign all bad ass and do kicks and jumps and punches and all that bad ass stuff.
I completely missed the patch notes... I wouldn't be surprised if a fixed game is 360 exclusive too :rolleyes: .
The patch seemed to work a treat for me. I never used to cheats so I'm not missing out there and all those little bugs that I encountered before seem to have dissapeared. Well, almost all of them. :p

Well, I slugged through it...
I was having camera problems, and I think my mistake was to forget to hold down the left trigger. Since the camera wasn't locked onto any enemy I couldn't orient myself properly to avoid them. I made it through before I realized that, but it should make things easier in future fights.
