View Full Version : My second drawing on Photoshop!
My second drawing on Photoshop. Ignore the crappy chair, I've never been an expert at drawing objetcs so I'm still learning. lol :p
Character inspired by the song If You Seek Amy, performed by Britney Spears. I had some fun drawing it, I've learned some things, I like how the hair turned out, had some problems deciding the color so I just made it white!
Made with mouse while I wait for my wacom tablet.
Advanced critique encouraged. :D

That is extroudenary.
Now I can see why you are so good at making outfits in Underworld :)
EDIT: And you made it with a mouse too.
That makes it even more extroudenary. :tmb:

Thanks! :D
There's a lot of smoothing after drawing the rough lines, and if you see the original file (4000x4000) you'll notice a lot of hard edges that I couldn't be bothered to do the cleaning work. The dark background also helps me to hide some polishing that I might (and I certainly did) have passed. :whi: :p

i wanna see a video of how you do this stuff... like start to finish - how you draw it, how you add the color etc...
Wow, awesome work there ! :tmb:
Nice pose and colors - I like how her skin seems to be reflecting some of the purple in the background.
The top of her head needs to be fuller- if you rotate the painting 90 degrees counter clockwise in Photoshop, you'll be able to see it better. It's definitely difficult to get the head proportions right if the character is holding back or is hanging upside down.
Her top and leggings could use some folds in the fabric - even the most skin-tight clothing produces folds where the knee bends, etc. And some more pronounced shading of the clothing as well - I like the play of light and shadow on the boots, that'd be something good to try to carry throughout the piece.
Good work :tmb:

Drawing with a mouse requires a lot of work, it's harder and it's not as practical as a tablet, there's too much going back and redoing some parts of the drawing and it takes much more time to get it done, it discourages me to draw, I almost left this drawing unifinished because I was getting tired of it, it's been a while since I started. So recording a video of how I draw with the mouse wouldn't be a good idea because most of it would be me erasing parts of the drawing and trying again.

Thanks! I need to practice more, I'll read some tutorials of how to draw certain kinds of fabric. I tried many times to do some shading on the clothes but it just didn't look right, so I went for some subtle shading that turned out almost invisible in the final piece. I'll wait for my tablet to arrive in a couple of days so I'll start practicing again. :)

Wow this forum has got some talented folk! :tmb:
wow i love it white,s a great couler for the hair :tmb: good work there!!!
Done with your mouse?! That's pretty darn impressive!
You've also got some advance coloring going on on her skin, well done.
And the little shoe nut inside me likes what you did with the boots; there's something about their shape that simply 'clicks'. :D
Can't wait to see what you'll get up to once you have your tablet! :tmb:
Thanks, everyone! :D
I can't wait to get my tablet either, it will make things a lot easier! :jmp:
