(Stupid question, I think, but anyway... http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/whistle.gif )</font> A friend tried to kill herself twice!!!! She went "gothic", with all those things, you know. Now she's going to the psychologist. I'm worried about her :(</font>

Question 1...no idea.

Question 2...I agree, call your friend. Someone who tries to kill themselves twice (while not maybe being really serious about it), is desperately in need of help.
Third time, which hopefully will never happen, they could be successful. Do whatever you need to do to prevent this.

If she's youre friend it must be easely for you to get her number. And then there is the question why she has gotting in to gothic? I hope that the psych can help her.

Thanks. I'll get her number tomorrow and will call her. I haven't seen her some time ago (6 years) I still consider her a friend. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Another friend was going "gothic", but her mother stopped her, thankfully.

Don't know why got "gothic". I think I have to do something.

Gothic is very unknown yet. I don't realy know much about it, but it's a dark thing, dragging people, that are not realy stable, into a lot of problems (if they not already are)

I just hope youre friend will manage to get her life on tracks again. And I wish you a lot of luck helping her! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif

Question 1. It depends what country you are in. The law is really shady and relatively untested. It is also, in some countries often contradictory and even bizarre.

Question 2. Call your friend if she wants it. People who are living with depression often need to live it out in their own way. 'Help' offered by other people can sometimes be an interference. Part of her problem might be (and probably is in some part) that she cannot cope with interacting with other people. So you have to be prepared for offered help to be rejected. If she is getting professional help from a psychologist, that is a good start for her.

Her 'going gothic' has nothing to do with making her depressed in the first place (though it won't necessarily help). It is an outward expression of her inner feelings and likely sense of alienation. And it is a coping strategy. Yes Marion, 'a dark thing' - an outward expression of inner feelings. But do not think that 'going gothic' means imbalanced or being unstable. There are many such people who dress in that style and live happy, productive and profitable lives.

I already did say I don't no much about it. But it seems to me that some people who are not that stable are very open for this kind of things. I don't mean to say that Gothic is bad.....I just don't no it.

It's somewhat frightening (is that the word?) that "gothic" style. I'll try to contact my friend soon. But not this weekend, at the start of the next week, because her mother comes monday. I'll ask her about my friend, and see what's happening.

The whole gothic thing is usually tied to rebellion from what someone expects of that person...but not always...

Depression is a problem, and its getting worse.

In conclusion, "gothic" is a style of life. It's somewhat dark, full of depression, and they love death . Do you think it's because of TV or friendships? (or other)

(or other)It is a subculture, dark - yes, full of depression - no not really. I agree with Neteru on this one. "Going Gothic" as you put it has nothing to with her depression, I think what she really needs right now is a friend - be there for her. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif
