my baby wabbit

I have had 5 baby rabbits for about 7 weeks now, 2 days ago one escaped, a few hours ago a lady came up to my door and asked if we owned a baby rabbit and I said "yes".
then she said that she found it and that it is alive and she has been taking care of it in her house, so she gave the bunny back to me. I put him back in his hutch but since the lady's cat attacked him a bit, he had 2 cuts on his head and he seemed to want to go to sleep. Now I just went back to check on him and he was just lying there motionless, I picked him up and he felt like a stuffed animal, he was hard, he wasn't breathing and he didn't blink.... He was Dead :(

I'm so sorry :( That must have been horribly upsetting for you. It's the most vulnerable stage of their lives, unfortunately, and cats will do what cats will do.

I'm sure you'll give his brothers and sisters plenty of love and care though :hug:

I am sorry for your loss. Losing a pet is never easy especially when one was devoted and loyal to them.

About a year ago, my cat found a baby bunny, and i found her outside with it, pulling out its fur and chewing on it. I tried really hard to take care of the baby (all the fur was gone from his rear, and he was a little bloody), but cats' teeth and claws are very germy, so a day or so later, he bagan to slump over, and not move much, i called a bunny recue place and they came to get him. They told me that with bunnies, its very hard to predict what will happen with them.. especially if a cat is involved.

I'm sorry that this happened to you, but at least he's okay now, where ever he is. I'm sure he appreciates the effort of youre trying to help him.
