View Full Version : Cast the Men of TR!

One thing that was rather interesting and refreshing about the TR series was that male characters were often peripheral to female ones, which is a given when the title character, is, well female. Supporting roles are also given to female characters: Amanda, Natla Anya and Janice, just to name a few. However, the men are important too. So, if you were the casting director of a TR film, who would you cast in the male roles of the TR series? You can name any male character ranging from Kurtis to Pierre DuPont, Kold Kin Kade to Werner Von Croy.
For some reason I just think Eric Loren would make a perfect Kurtis Trent, although I don't know why....

David Tennant's too cool/handsome to play Alister! :p Though I can see it...
I'd say he could be Dr. Willard. :D

Well he is extremely handsome but if you scruffed him up a bit..dyed his hair black..he'd be perfect.
Plus, any excuse to see anything with Mr Tennant in it :p.

Kurtis=Brad Pitt? Hmm, I don't see it.
I think I speak for lots of people when I say that Michael Caine should be the one and only Winston.
hey,
well, the Brad Pitt as Kurtis idea comes from an amusing theory as
to what it might take for Angelina to play Lara in the third film.:D
sound good? otherwise, Our Lux Veritas could be Carmine Genavazzo
from CSI NY, Eric Delko CSI Miami or Nick Stokes from CSI Vegas.;)

Zip: DL Hughely

I've always mulled over who to cast as Zip, but when I saw DL Hughely on the Ellen show the other day and I was stunned: he looks and sounds so much like Zip! Plus, he's a comedian so he should be able to handle Zip's funny lines. Apologies for the large-sized images!
hey all,
okay, here's my cast seriously::D
KURTIS: George Eads (CSI: Las Vegas)
ZIP: Gary Douran (CSI: Las Vegas)
ALEX: Carmen Venazzo (CSI: NY)
BRYCE: whoever plays him in TR1 and TR2:COL
CHASE (comics): Micheal Weatherly (NCIS)
KOLD: Micheal Clarke Duncan
KIDD: Eminem
WINSTON: Leslie Nielsen/David McCallum (NCIS), the one in the
TR movies (i.e. Hillary Winston)
I nixed Brad Pitt cause that was a joke casting. this is a little more
serious casting. comments welcome.
They should get rid of all the males

But TR is so equal opportunity! Men play as foils and assistants peripheral to Lara but often still important to the stories.

"Equal oppertunity"
Work for Lara, or get shot at by Lara. I like your interpretation of it :p

Indeed. In the meantime, I thought that these two might make perfect Von Croys:

Max von Sydow (Rush Hour 3, Never Say Never Again)

John Hurt (V for Vendetta, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull)
Ian McKellen is a pretty common choice, and while I think he'll be good he's got a little too much pedigree for a "videogame movie", though I'm sure TR can rise above that stigma.

A bump, and also a suggestion for Larson now that he's a little older: Casper Van Dien:

(Just to clarify, I'm a straight male, but he think he'd be good for the role because he can stand around, look muscley and look cocky too-acting not required for Larson)
Zip: DL Hughely

He's perfect to play Zip!
Looks exactly like him! :D

Thank you so much, that's exactly what I thought when I first saw DL Hughely on the Ellen DeGeneres talkshow as well. As for kicking out all the male characters, I think TR just wouldn't be TR if Lara didn't have men to trash about. :p And this coming from a guy...

I got hooked on Lost but couldn't help but notice how much the character "Sawyer" reminded me of Larson. Sawyer is played by: Josh Holloway http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0391326/
