Used to be up aroung $10,000. Now for $2000.

Thinking about it, will we see an increase in PS3 Hackers?

Hopefully we'll see an increase in PSN indie games, a la Fat Princess.

Yeah, there'll probably be an increase in PS3 hackers, but I imagine there's plenty of them as it is. Also, it'll be worth it if it makes things cheaper for developers, and will hopefully increase the amount of games for it. Nice move, Sony (for a change).

This is a good decision but I think its necessary after all the business decisions made recently. I just hope this isn't a sign that Sony are now panicking.

No, it means we'll get more shovelware titles though, along side more zany games.

I can't see there being that many more hackers/home brew, $2000 still isn't cheap, plus the ps3 remains difficult to hack already.

I'm guessing they've announced this in combination with their Phyre engine to encourage developers to work on their console more.
