I don't know if there is already a threat of this game. Any way, Madworld is truly a awesome beat 'm up game. The comic style, the brutal moves, briljant humor, crazy characters and a cool soundtrack. This is a type of game the Wii needs. Games like Resident Evil 4, House of the Dead: Overkill, Dead Space, Fatal Frame IV, Cursed Mountain..etc. Not just psychologic thrillers but brutal horror games too. From the first time you played Madworld you probably thinking: "Why didn't Sega bring this game to the core-consoles (PS3 and 360)". Because the Wii isn't exactly a console for this type of games and Madworld is not a game for your mother or little sister..because it's violent as hell. But on the other hand: games like Madworld, The Conduit and Monster Hunter 3 give the Wii a better name i guess. 2009 is already a very good year for the Wii because there are so many core games coming to this system. So..maybe...maybe the Wii becomes a core-console too. Any way, if you have a Wii....buy Madworld! If you don't have a Wii...well, maybe it's time to get one because Madworld is just one big bloodbath and fun as hell.

I know the Wii has a bad reputation in general and of course here too. But this year (and hopefully not only this year) will prove that the Wii can offer much more then just gimmicky party games and very bad ports (Dead Rising any one?). The Conduit proves that the Wii can do much more in terms of graphics and is hopefully a hint to other game designers that they MUST create some very good First Person Shooters. And Madworld proves that violent and brutal games can also be played on a Wii system. We all know that there are a lot of bad games on the Wii like Anubis II, Far Cry: Vengeance, Super Kart GP, Deca Sports, Ninjabread Man..etc. But give the Wii a little more time and you will see that even this system can offer must-have games for the core gamers. Nintendo left the core people and i don't hear anything from this company. No new Mario, no new Metroid, no new Zelda (only for the DS) and no other well known Nintendo game. Excitebots: Trick Racing might be a cool racing game but i rather play a new Wave Race or a 1080 game. And i'm not interesting in Punch Out because i haven't played any of these games on the NES or SNES. It's not Nintendo that brings us new must-have games (at least not yet) but thanks to all the other game producers we get some cool stuff on the Wii this year. Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, Smash Bros Brawl...great games. But they getting old and Wii owners want some new games to look forward.

This is my list of Wii games which i probably buy when they come out:

The Conduit
Cursed Mountain
Deadly Creatures
Dead Space: Extraction
Excitebots: Trick Racing
Fatal Frame IV: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse
Final Fantasy: The Crystal Bearers
Fragile: Farewell Ruins of the Moon
Monster Hunter 3
Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars
Resident Evil: Dark Side Chronicles

Games i'm not sure about but they look fun to me:

A Boy and His Blob
Ghostbusters
Klonoa
Metroid Prime (New Play Control)
Metroid Prime 2 (New Play Control)

Madworld's mindless violence kinda puts me off,to be honest.Platinum should have sticked with games like Okami, although judging by its sales i understand why they turned to more popular trends. But PlatinumGames are very talented developers so i'm sure Madworld is great for what it is.

Btw,you have a good list of games there!:)
The Wii has some great games and as you say there are many more to come. But its definitely not a console for FPS fans.
Personally i'm still holding off to buy a Wii,at least until most of the games that interest me are out.
I'll probably buy one when Monster Hunter 3 comes out in the west.

It's indeed mindless violence..but in style. And this comic style is absolutly great and i love the cynical humor. Because you can't take this game seriously. But if you don't like the overall style and vibe, that's fine off course.

Thanks! and that's so sad because i'm a big FPS fan. I played GoldenEye, Perfect Dark and all the Turok games on the N64. Timesplitters 2 and 3 are briljant too and people don't make games like this anymore. And while the Wii is a perfect console for FPS games, all whe get are just lazy ports (COD3), bad exclusives (Red Steel, Far Cry: Vengeance) or FPS games with ugly graphics (COD3 and FC: Vengeance). MoH: Heroes 2 has as simplistic Single Player and the glooming effect only camouflages the blurry textures and blocky enemies and not create a magical atmosphere because that's the purpase of this effect. And in stead of include both offline and online they cut out the offline mode from MoH: Vanguard and replace it with a online mode. Why not both like in most games these days (Halo 3, Killzone 2, COD4..etc).

Red Steel has a offline mode with FOUR (buggy) indoor maps which you can play with FOUR players. FC: Vengeance on the other hand, has EIGHT OUTDOOR maps..but only playable with TWO players. I never played COD: World at War on the Wii, but COD3 was very bad. Gamecube graphics and no multiplayer at all. So, only The Conduit will be a kick-ass FPS game and a must-have for fans of this genre. But even if Conduit succeed, whe got only ONE proper shooter for this system. Hopefully the other game producers learn from High Voltage Software. But at this point, the 360 is like the N64 in the old days: the perfect console for FPS games. Halo 3, Call of Duty 3/4/5, Far Cry: Predator Instincts, Rainbow Six Vegas and even Perfect Dark is a good game. Altough inferior to the original PD on the N64.

Madworld looked interesting to me. How long is the game? I was afraid it would be short and I've decided not to buy new games unless I've played a demo.
