Hey guys, dunno if anyone's brought this up before, but I've just been giving a JVC GZ-whatever for mah birthday, and the files are all .mod, and they don't work. And I can't find any free/cheap software to convert...

Please help!!!

Maybe .moV not .moD? MOD is music format used on old systems like Amiga :D

To be able to play MOV files install K-Lite Mega Codec pack (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Video/Codec-Packs-Video-Codecs/KLite-Mega-Codec-Pack.shtml)

.MOD is JVC's proprietary video format. You should have received a disk with software on it, most likely Cyberlink PowerDirector, that will allow you to work with the videos and convert them to more common formats.

Hmm, no. This says PowerCinema.
And it doesn't do anything.

Can you post a screenshot of Windows Explorer window with those files displayed in Details view?

You didn't get a CD with it to work with the files? Where did you get your camera from?

Was it still fully packed? There must have been a CD in the (original) package...

What's the exact model of your camera?
