That is so confusing I just lost an hour and my computer clock jumped forward an hour!
I feel jet-lagged now.

forum clocks might not adjust until 2 am, which is typically when our clocks (in the US anyhow) will adjust forward/backward. they do this for reasons of liquor sales ;)

ie.. you can't turn the clock back at 12 am and make it 11pm the previous day - this would extend the liquor sales by one hour - illegal. so, they wait until it is 02:00:01 to set the clocks back an hour. this will end the night of liquor sales legally. for reasons of continuity - this time is held in place for DST as well (so as not to cut liquor sales short).

and since the forum clock is set to GMT - mine is still in EST and not updated to EDST yet.

The forum clock is never right anyways. It's always a few minutes slow for some reason. My PC clock is perfectly in sync with the World Official Time clock so I know it's the forum clock that is incorrect.

All times are GMT -4. The time now is 21:54.

the actual time:
22:57

I had to get up early this morning, and had a moment of, 'ARGH! Is it 6am or 7am? If it's 7am I'm bloody late!'

Luckily it's only coming up to 6:30am. Phew.

Wait. Let me use my useless brain xD Six months ago, we put the clocks forward One Hour So, when I woke up at 8:30 every morning before school, it was REALLY 7:30. So now that we put the clocks back to the original time, I'll be waking up at the REAL 8:30 xD

So yeah, Daylight savings aside, I will now be waking up at 8:30 for real, not 7:30.

To be honest, I don't like this clocks going forward thing. I prefer them going back, extra hour in bed lol. Curse this time we live in lol.

No! Six month's ago the clocks went back an hour (Fall back). The clocks went forward an hour for you last night (Spring ahead) which means so did the daylight along with it.

Noooo xD at 3am this morning, it became 2am. An hour backwards. Maybe the Australian system is different. And its not spring ahead, its Autumn xD

Ah, that explains it! Didn't realize you resided in the Great Down Under. Actually, I just learned that Australia observes DST! Thank you! :)

Cool, glad you agree. I find it annoying that you need to put the clocks forward, well on mobile phones for example, they don't set themselves sadly.

Lol, I prefer the clocks going back too. :p

But, mobile phones have an option to set themselves automatically, I think...

Really? I asked my Mum earlier, she said they don't, so we need to do it ourselves, lol.

What I find somewhat annoying (more of an inconvenience than anything) is that the US decided to observe DST about a month earlier than we used to. So now, all electronics manufactured prior to the change, regardless of whether or not they automatically detect DST, have to be manually changed over.

My television has been an hour behind in time for the past month up until last night. No biggie, but still an unwanted inconvenience. Maybe I should purchase a new one. Lol.

Yeah, most do. Mine didn't change because I didn't have it set to automatic though. :ton:

Dazzy

I don't think mine has any options to be automatic. Honestly, if we all lost 1 hour, it means time jumped forward and nothing happened in that split second lol.
