Like it says really. When I try to load up the game, it freezes at the menu screen and won't let me get out of the game without turning the PC off. Am not impressed as the disc is unscratched and it hasn't even been out of it's box in ages!

I've checked the disc and run all the cleaning/defrag programmes. I'm running Vista, if that helps.

Any ideas?

1. Disable DEP (http://www.tombraiderwiki.com/index.php/DEP)

2. Stop your antivirus.

3. Run the game in WinXP SP2 compatibility mode.

If still freezes, run Diagnose.exe (http://www.tombraiderhub.com/download/diagnose.exe) and post the report.

Sorry to sound daft, but how do I do step 3?

Right click the shortcut or the executable, select Properties > Compatibility tab and choose WinXP SP2 compat. mode. Press OK, then run.

Right, I'll try it now! Thank you!

EDIT: It won't allow me to disable the DEP. The error message says access is denied. I can't see why because I'M the admin on the PC, as no one else uses it?!

Ah... I don't actually use a password on my PC (like I say, I'm the only one who uses it), what do I type there then?

Let it be blank if you want, but it's not safe to leave it as that.
