Hola amigos! I'm sorry if this thread is off topic, I just wanted some advice from people that live in Spain. My friends and I are planning on visiting Spain this summer and there are some things I'd like to ask. We want to go definitely to Barcelona and I would like to know what other places around Barcelona are easy to reach and worth visiting. We are on the process of looking for hotels, so if you have any suggestions on where to stay, they're more than welcome.

Sure Lora!
What do you want to see? What kind of tourism want to do?
Do you plan to visit beaches, architecture, significant places near Barcelona?
How many days? Money? Are you many?
Surely you have seen something, I can tell you what kind of neighborhood is there, if it is a good area or things like this.
I don't know if you speak Spanish, but I must say that in some places you will find things written in Catalan, the language of the region (political affairs:ohn:), but is not very different from Spanish and very French-like.
The best way to get around the city is by public transport, subway is the fastest, bus you can see the city and there are a shuttle bus tour routes that show to you differenst routes in the city(Gaudí places etc).

You can read on all this in the web http://www.bcn.es/english/ihome.htm
This is the official web on Barcelona city. There are a lot of information about all sorts of things.

Why don't you consult me, Lora? :D I'm like a travel agent, haha. :D

Anyway, I'd reccommend a Lonely Planet guidebook. Just go to Eleftheroudakis and buy the Barcelona Encounter City Guide. It should look something like this:

Have a look through it before you buy it. It should list accommodation, transportation, tourist attractions and all things you're looking for. They shouldn't be too expensive. Last time I went in that book shop, I think those books were about €15.

I can also help you find a cheap airfare!
