Hey,

I have just had a new laptop, a HP tx2050ea (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01326330&cc=uk&dlc=en&lc=en&jumpid=reg_R1002_UKEN) and for some reason, every time I browse the Internet it seems to freeze for say a minute, then comes back to normal. And this keeps doing this for every different page I browse. This does this for both Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox (probably more so in Firefox).

I am running a freshly installed copy of Vista Ultimate (32-bit) and the only things installed are the drivers and utilities. Both UAC and DEP are disabled. There are quite a few processes running, which are needed for the touch screen capabilities and finger print reader. I have installed the latest driver version of the WiFi adapter. I have tried running it in Safemode with Networking, and it seems to run fine. So I am assuming it could be a driver/software issue.

I will post a list of running processes later when I get home. Any suggestions in the mean time?

Cheers.

:wve:

1. Do you have any antivirus/firewall software installed?

2. Do you have Windows Firewall active?

3. Post Diagnose.exe (http://www.tombraiderhub.com/download/diagnose.exe) and ARDiag.exe (http://www.tombraiderhub.com/download/ardiag.exe) reports.

4. What NIC exactly do you use for internet access? Is anbother NIC active meanwhile?

Thanks for reminding me about my firewall actually - I have managed to find the problem. It was the web filtering option within my firewall that blocks adverts and scripts, which I usually have disabled. When it is enabled, it kills my browser.

Thanks for the help Alex :wve:
