View Full Version : 2 questions about AOD

Hi. I just have 2 questions about AOD.

1. Im wanting to record all the cutscenes in AOD because they're all Japanese and i love them ^^ Anywho, Sometimes during cutscenes (Speaking to someone cutscene, not normal cutscene) Voices will stop, for example Lara will say "Madamoiselle Carvier, I have just come from Werner's apparentment." Then Carvier will speak, but no audio, just subtitles, then Lara's voice comes back, and so does Carviers, but this happens regularly and it sucks because atleast 2 times in every conversation with someone, a certain line won't play.

I don't think im in need of a patch because when I installed the game, it says in the main menu Build: 52J so im guessing Eidos Japan/EA patched it before it was released.

Any way I can fix this? Im pretty sure i've had the same issue in the english version so I doubt its a version problem.

2. I doubt anyone will know, unless they've had other international versions of the game and have used AWD2WAV to extract the audio. Well, When I extract audio from a specific Level (Carvier's Appartment) for example, no Japanese audio is extracted and there is definately Japanese speech in the level because I've played it :p Only english audio is extracted.

I'm pretty sure the Japanese audio is in the same file because of this

From English Version > paris1b.AWD.CLZ is 14,214 KB
From Japanese Version > paris1b.AWD.CLZ is 18,727 KB

Im pretty sure that the extra ~4mb in the Japanese audio file would be the Japanese audio.

Anyone know why any Japanese audio isnt extracting?

2. I don't believe it has any settings. Its one of those programs only run-able via the Command prompt. Its in my C:/documents ans settings/Me.. folder, all I do is open CMD and type AWD2WAV.EXE PARIS1.AWD for example.

1. Go to Start > Run, type in "dxdiag" w/o quotes, on Sound tab set Acceleration to Basic. Press OK.

2. Run TRAOD Settings. On General tab turn off SSE2 and Multithreading. On Sound tab leave only Basic 3D Core Audio Panning and Software Audio mode on, disable Hardware mode and EAX. Press OK.

3. Run AOD.

I just tested a whole conversation scene and nothing cut out, thankyou! :D

About the AWD2WAV, I just downloaded it again just incase it was a never version or something but nothing worked. Is there a program out there that extracts Audio from any file? I don't nescessarily mean a Tomb Raider game based tool but any tool to extract sounds files contained in a file.
