at the end of every level in the game, there was a boss fight, a big mercenary fight or something dramatic.

Bolivia- Big Fight with Mercenaries
Peru- Big Fight with Mercenaries
Japan- Fight with Takamoto
Ghana- Fight with Rutland
Kazakstan- Fight with Unknown entity
England- Fight with Sea Serpent and Big Fight with Mercenaries
Nepal- Crumbling floor
Bolivia Redux- Fight with the Unknown Entity again

did anyone like this?

I found them fun, yes.

Yes, I think it's overused in Legend.

Yeah, I noticed it. I hated the parts where you had to just have a massive shoot-out with the mercenary's, I bought Tomb Raider to explore tombs, not to go and have a massive action-packed shoot-out.

Usually, a Tomb Raider level will have about three or four levels in each location, and then have a boss-fight. But seen as every location in Legend was basically a level, then... :whi:

I didn't mind it, but I hated the Serpent in England, it took me at least 25 tries to kill it :hea:. Could have done whitout that.

Serpent is easy :D

Tony9595

Yeah... but extremely glitchy... :pi:

Lara never throwed the grapple to the correct lever, even though it was the only one in the camera :hea:

Tombraiderx08

four boss battles in a row, kinda bothered me.

Pretty Odd
23-05-09, 19:28
I noticed. But it wasn't really a big deal...

They were all extremely easy when playing on hard :whi:

I noticed and it was...zzzzzz

So sorry, nodded off. I liked the Serpent and the the first Entity fights even if they included a buggy grapple.

i did notice it too and it was fun:)

Not really an issue as i found all bosses to be relatively easy in Legend.

It was okay. Didn't bother me.

Boss fights were ok - but not a patch on the Torso boss (original, not TRA one), the Guardian of the Tailon and Sophia Leigh.

Actually, you can't abstract the fights into Level-Boss, Level-Boss, Level-Boss, etc like structure. It doesn't make justice to the levels. The unknow entity fight was my fav, cause you have to make a lot of things before killing it.

I thought it was better in TR1/A where it was less predictable such as Peru -
Level, Level, Level - Boss, Level.
It was more unsuspecting then.

But always a level has to have a boss

Cloe Christina

i didn't actually notice that maybe because i found it normal.....it would have been too easy if there were hardly any boss battles...

OMG I just realised I posted what was written here in the wrong topic. So embarassed right now. :o

Then, Tomb Raider I and Tomb Raider III are not really TR I guess :)

Thatīs Different, īcause that was a boss after various levels.

-Jungle
-Temple Ruins
-River Ganges
-Caves of Kaliya Boss fight here

-Thames Wharf
-Aldwych
-Lud's Gate
-City Boss fight here

Not like in Legend, that each level had a boss.

Pretty Odd

^ Yeah that's true.
I noticed that right away about Legend.
I liked TRA where it was more of a
surprise when the boss fight came.

Oh I was thinking levels as a whole - India section, London section, etc... honestly, I don't believe there's such big difference ;) We're talking about several bosses at the end of a zone anyway... but, hey, personally I don't mind it, even though I prefer TR II or The Last Revelation story telling game.

Interesting observations. In fact, I think this is one of the main problems with TRL. CD wanted to make every level fast paced and action packed, and so they felt that it had to end in an interesting/dramatic way too.

I wouldn't mind boss fights so much if they weren't like standard, arcade boss fights. The T-Rex in Anniversary is a perfect example - you're trapped in an arena with a rhythmic method to killing it combined with it's own health bar and cut-scenes. -_- Not everything needs to be so dramatically emphasized. A 30ft T-Rex can pretty much speak for itself. Legend started off the boss fights and while I didn't enjoy them at all really, I feel more strongly about Anniversary's bad boss fights.

iv never really noticed because the games are so good they make up for them (Anniversary and Legend), and to be honest they really didn't bother me, apart from the sea serpant in Cornwall, which provided a challenge for e, but nevertheless, an interesting one!

I believe those get clumped under "boss fights", which at their most epic is Lara vs Crumbling Floor!!!!

I really hate boss fights. Probably because I don't like combat much in general. :\ Having said that, the first fight with Fluffy in Kazakhstan wasn't too bad since it was over in a few seconds and Fluffy was hopeless. :D

I didn't like it. It told me that I was at the end of an incredibly short level.

One or two would have been better.
