^ Agreed. Alot of people say AVG but I find it bogs down the system. Avast also has multiple features AVG doesn't such as boot-time scanning. It also speaks to you when the antivirus definitions have been updated :D

I had some major problems just recently. Malwarebyte's anti malware got rid of all of the viruses I didn't even know my computer had which also fixed its problems. It is free to use, but you can choose to buy it later. Avast works well too.

Yes, I use Avast.

You'll need to get used to the daily, "VIRUS DATABASE HAS BEEN UPDATED", though. :D

Thanks from me as well, I have just downloaded Avast and am currently scanning. It has found 4 Trojans already! Yikes, better get rid of those fast. :o

Thanks! :tmb:

I'm using AVG, but if everyone says Avast is great then I think I might change over.

I use Kaspersky, but I don't know if there's a free version available.

I recommend Avira.

You can use AVG, but I'd keep it disabled until you need to do an actual virus scan, until then keep avast or avira running.

I also have ad-aware and spybot for a number of things like malware and keyloggers.

I recommend Spybot Search and Destroy, AdAware (free version), and Avast (or another AV of your preference).

Between the three of them, you shouldn't have any malware issues.

That's great!

I have Spybot Search and Destroy, it didn't pick up a thing. Maybe I used it wrong.

btw you can also run Kerio with another firewall without any performance hitch so it's great for traffic monitoring and the extra guard.

Spybot s&d tends to pick up adware, I use it and Avast! I used to use AVG but it kept not updating or scanning which was a pain atleast with Avast it tells me when it has updated.

Yes, unfortunately I discovered that myself with AVG. It would always seem to have issues with completing the updates, so I made the switch over to Avast myself because of that.

I scrapped AVG myself, from hearing about Avast now!

Except there's two icons for Avast in the taskbar, one of which comes up with the menu to scan your files etc. The other, which has a blue circle with the letter a in, and has a small red circle on it with a line going through the diameter of it. When I click to open it, for some weird reason comes up with this:
