What do you want from TR3?

The last two films were average-ish. They were entertaining enough but not as brilliant as they could have been.

So how can we improve on what has been done so far? What do we all want to see (or not see) in the next Tomb Raider film?

I want to watch this movie and feel like I'm seeing what makes Lara tick.

I want a well written story with a intriguing plot and characters that actually have more depth than cardboard.

I don't want senseless action.. i want Lara to have very clear motivations. I want her to strong, intelligent, driven, and interesting.

because Dan Lin said that most of the action is character driven,and I can see them showing lara's motivations in the way CD did with anniversary.

I think Lara going through some sort of "revelation" about herself or maybe going through some sort of "life changing experience" would be interesting along with really cool action stunts, ones that make you say..."now thats cool"

How does this sound... Lara having a childhood friend who she always competes with (who happens to be a guy) and you see them grown up and trying to compete by finding the artifact first but in Lara's greed she gets to an artefact first but has to watch as her friend dies all because she had to get to it first -OR- the first time Lara has to use a gun to shoot a bad guy, maybe Werner Von Croy? to save her father or save the world, something like that. A friend that turns into a bad guy.... hmm sound familiar? :p (batman)

What do you want to bet its something like that? Werner mentors her in tomb raiding and she finds out what kind of person he really is and has to pick up a gun for the first time and kill him. :)

I want a great character driven adventure story, not a series of great stunts interspersed with Lara looking good in an exotic location. The first 2 movies were not bad, but they were not fantastic either and the second was no where near as good as the first.

Great minds, huh? lol that's exactly what I want to see! I wrote / am writing something almost exactly like that in a fan script I'm doing. Though my script will probably never be used, the idea might!

I'd like a story like the last revelation. With seth in and all that, but if its going to be more "realistic", then I guess the bad guys can't be egyptian gods coming back to life...

But yeah, as well as Lara having lots of development, I'd like to actually see a tomb or two in the film. In the very first film when I first saw it, I remember being excited when Angelina was in the training tomb room thing, and had a big dissapointment, when I realised it wasn't real.

I understand that the whole film can't be set in a tomb as it would get boring, but it just sets of the atmosphere for me.

there is something all the new movies have that really catches my eye,I think it is special effects...

but the colours and everything during fighting scenes,it will be amazing to see tomb raider with the technology for movies now:)

Great storyline first and foremost, followed by a fantastic performance of the lead actress that will be at least as good as Angelina's.

I want a good story that isnt cliched at all. I want better characters to be introduced, like amanda, natla etc. I want Lara to be independent again. I want her to work for her money and for the films to show how she got it.

I want to see the reason Lara became a TR, and I want it to be something believable. No family-related nonsense like "following in the footsteps of my...", "to find the truth about my dead...", "my parents were so aristocratic and its suffocating me..."...something that's not cliche and the audience will find believable.

I want the villain to NOT be a cookie-cutter older rich and/or powerful man seeking more power/world domination like the first two movies did two times in a row.

I want more supporting characters. It's boring when it's just Lara, the villain, and their sidekicks who have minor roles anyway. Introducing more main characters like Amanda, Kurtis, Larson, Anaya, Rutland, etc. would make the story much better.

And most important, I want a great storyline.

The first person Lara ever shot was Larson, so it would make no sense to change that.

An action-packed, layered and solid adventure film. I'd love to see Lara doing more tomb raiding, with big-scale environmental puzzles like in the game, and diabolical booby traps. I'd also enjoy seeing a good love story or the generic love interest completely chucked away. As for action sequences, more underwater action is called for, and perhaps a shootout in an ancient antechamber that is crumbling on Lara and the baddies anyway. I'd love some obvious and respectful nods to the games, thrown in for the fans. The movies were pretty independent of the games; I think that they shouldn't be slavish to the games but at least seem like blood relatives.

Some have mentioned Amanda. It would be interesting to see her character in a new movie. Does anyone want Natla in the movie? It would be intriguing to see a strong female villain. :)
