Can you help me understand this please :(? My assessment is on Wednesday next week and I just don't get it.

Hi!

It´s not that hard :hug:

Look:

a. A solution of 1% is 1 gram/100 mL -> 0.1% is 0.1 gram/100mL, so that’s 100 mg per 100 mL, so 1 mg/mL. Okay?

b. 1 gram is 1000 mg

c. 1 mg is 1000 μg (microgram)

d. The dose required is 6 microgram/kg/min. There is 1000 microgram in 1 mL (because there is 1 mg in 1 mL and one mg is 1000 microgram), so for 6 micrograms you need 1/1000 and x 6 mL of the solution -> 0.006 mL. Get it so far?

Now, that’s only the amount you need for 1 kg per minute, but the patients weight is 77 kg, so we must do this times 77 and then times 60 (because there are 60 minutes in one hour). Okay, let’s see what we get here: 0.006x77x60 = 27.72 mL/hour.

Let’s see if the formula gives the same answer: yup, 27.72. :)

Hmm, I don’t really get why first you have to do times 100 and then divide by 100000, instead of don’t do times and 100 and then divide by 1000. Hmmm…?

Anyway, if you use the formula, you’re safe. :D

Better not make mistakes with Dobutamine! ;)

Don't understand, but can you do 12 x 57 (mod 56)?
