View Full Version : New Graphic card = My pc is restarting :(

Raziel66

I have a big problem with my new graphic card.
It's a AGP Saphire Ati Radeon HD 3650
No matter what drivers I install, no matter what options I choose in bios or in driver settings, it keeps crashing.
For example. If i start TR Legend, then play a few seconds, the PC will restart itself (weird thing is,that Ghana is not functioning at all,it restarts itself when the level loads). Then I have tried BloodRayne1,first it was functioning few minutes, then it restarted my PC,after I played with options, new drivers and so on, it doesn't even load the level (well it doesn't matter, it is crashing anyway]. Same thing goes with other games, my Pc keeps restarting itself.
Windows runs just fine.
Any ideas? I am desperate :(

Here's the diagnose. I have original copies of Legend and Anniversary, I am using the no-cd patches , because I do not want to scratch my Cds (I can post a pictures if you want )

Edit:List of things I have already done
-installed both the original drivers from CD and the newest ones 9.5
-tried to play with the settings in Catalyst control center
-tried almost everythig in bios(switching some various options on and off, then tried to change the Agp from 8X to 4X and so on)
-ensured myself, that card is not overheating
-tried to play with the cables, combinations

You have insufficient power. Check your PSU power output and post it here.

My PSU -> LC-POWER LC5450-v2.2 450W

Full specs are here(I will try to find site in english and post it here]

http://www.alfacomp.cz/php/index.php?eid=106140&Search=lc5450&SearchType=1&SearchSubmit=1

Edit:
I have found the specifications in english
http://www.prokoo.com/product_info.php?products_id=859

And here are the Card specs
http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/?psn=000101&pid=82

1. How old is your PSU? The power output may appear now lower than nominal.

2. Can you post a link to exactly your video board specs (like PSU one)?

3. Ensure now that you have BIOS setting set to default, AGP to 8X, latest video drivers set to defaults as well.

4. What cooling does your GPU have?

5. Can be related to resource hogging:

disable your NOD32 AV completely;
run ARDiag.exe (http://www.tombraiderhub.com/download/ardiag.exe) and post the report.

Raziel66

1. Less than year old

2. You mean video card specs? I have added them into my previous post. For completeness here are my mainboard specs

http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=L2XYS0rmtCjeOr4k&templete=2

3. OK I will switch the settings back to AGP8X

4. Just the fan, that came with the card. But it is not overheating, I have already tested it(by touching the card and by program PC Wizard 2008). The temperature is constant 39-43 grades.

5. I will try to disable the NOD and I will post the report shortly

Edit:
It is all yours :)

Copy the following text and paste it to your report AS IS!!!

System Requirement:
AGP based PC is required with one 4X/8X AGP slot available on the motherboard.
1GB or greater system memory for better performance.
450Watt or greater power supply with 30Amps on 12 volt with 2x4 power connector recommanded.

Do you have supplementary power plugged in (upper right corner on the image)?

Yes I have it connected. That's the only cable that is connected to the card btw.

Edit: I changed the bios settings back to the default ones. I set the AGP to 8X and the memory of the card to 512mb, thats the only thing I have changed. And I have changed AGP to 8X in ATI Catalyst control center too.
Then I have tried to turn off the NOD32, but with no effect.

I think, that the problem is in the PSU, the games are going great, but when the card uses more of its power, the PC restarts. I remember this from my old card. I didn't connect one power cable to the card and it was constantly restarting or freezing because it didn't have enough power to run at full speed.

Buy a 650W PSU and you won't get any more headaches about that :)

FIXED ! :D So I tried the last thing and that was underclock my processor back to its original state and change the voltage to the default one. And yeay it worked. I have already played three levels in Tomb Raider Legend without crash or any other weird glitches. And what's even better, I can play with next-gen options on !! That's fantastic, it runs so smoothly.

Thank you for your help EscondeR. I appreciate it :D
