OH... :tea: :vlol: I guess I was using the wrong terminology. "Conversion" is what I meant then! ;) But yeah, thanks for keeping all or most of the original bones. They make the models very fun to pose!

Can I recommend you to enable 'backface culling' and 'always force culling'? The models will look better then. :o

Hmm... I think I have backface culling enabled but "always" disabled because it was causing some parts to blend with the background on XNALara. But hey, thanks for the suggestion. I'll play around with it and see which options yield better results for certain poses.

Exactly! He was arguing semantics, was reading into my description too literally when I pretty much took that description from the company website and the website itself was hinting that Poison is ambiguous. I mean, who cares it's a video game character right? :o

I think Poison wasnt transsexual in SFxT, she was more girly in it this time xD Yeah, hardly anyone cares, she's still awesome no matter about her sexuality :p

I totally agree! To add to what you said, game developers are not in the business of selling the models, they sell the games, so it's not like we're competing with them or anything. Here in the US (not sure in other countries), reverse engineering IS legal and if copyrighted material is obtained in the process, as long as it's not for commercial reasons as you've said, that usually is considered fair use (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_use) of the material. Look at the Bleem! vs Sony debacle.

I also properly credit the copyright holders of the models themselves whenever I share poses.

Even if it is a render, I don't claim ownership of anything. Namco Bandai doesn't have any renders of this pose, only an illustration. I specifically say it's based on that. The only thing I should get credited for is the act of posing the character, not the actual pose itself.

I'm thinking the guy might've picked me because I'm fairly new to dA (only 8 months) but he doesn't know I'm old enough not to get bullied by the likes of him. Been working in the IT field for 9 years now and I've dealt with bigger bullcrap than this, so nothing I can't handle.

Eternity_black, my very good friend, I appreciate the fact that you want me to continue posting my poses here, especially coming from you, the person that inspired me to start doing it all. I've decided to continue posting them here for the time being especially after learning about Deviant Art's official position on fanart utilizing 3D characters extracted from video games.

The reason why I had initially decided to put the poses up only on DA is that this place feels like a ghost town, hence my "tumbleweeds" comment. You post something and the ultra hyper TRDaz seems to be the only audience we have here. :o Other than that, it feels like you're talking to a wall. :o It wasn't because I felt like my work overshadowed other people's work, though if I ever made anyone else feel inadequate with their poses, I apologize as that wasn't my intention. :o As I've said on DA, the ultra-anal retentive artist in me just doesn't want to put something out there that can be considered mediocre at best. I always strive for excellence in most of the things I do, so it's more like a personal goal for me, not my goal for what other people do. That's just none of my business. In fact, I would be happy if other people shared their poses here too even if they think they don't look great. I mean, that's the reason why we enjoy downloading the models, right? Because we like the models and we like to pose them, not because this is a pissing contest.

Anyway, this is getting long. But ya, you'll still see me post on this thread. I haven't posted any poses both here and on DA because I just realized I'm enjoying the recoloring business as well. :) I'm also trying to learn the process of porting models myself but information here and on the web in general are pretty far and few between. We'll see where that goes. :)

BTW, nice to see you posting your poses back on DA. Looking forward to more. :)

I noticed alot of these pose files are hosted off site. and that alot of the links are dead.
Or you have to go through the frustration of going through download queues and filling out captcha...

But you can just open these POSE files with notepad and paste them in a post.
So that you can like host them on site with no offsite hosting annoyances
