This is the thread for my levelset, the Realm of Paradox.
To show off what is happening, and to ask for people's opinions.

Lara is sent by a secret brotherhood of wizards to a realm of magic that lies just beyond the edge of our reality. It is a place of paradox, where magic rules, and physics does not always apply.
There she is to find the lost city of Ru Akhn, in which are the pyramid temples of the mystic fountains. Her quest is to get a sample of water from each of the magical fountains.

I am editing the first post, so that it will always be current with latest screenshots.

Just what I am working on at the moment:

http://i595.photobucket.com/albums/tt34/Shroomsage/stones3.jpg

Haven't built the rooms around it, or done the lighting... It is a druid portal.
I am not sure about the shape/size of the standing stones.
It is a floating platform, part of a stage where Lara follows a magical river that flows between floating islands.

I also have not settled on a colour for the horizon.
Opinions?

Thank you. :D
I found on TRsearch, the Drakan Order of the Flame textures which are quite beautiful.
(With some of my own editing, of course. :jmp:)

Looks neat. For the stairway to No-where level, add random switches around the room on those beige textures, that will need to be pulled to open the door. But make them really camoflauged.

WOW!
Those screens look great, I especially love the way the Crystals look as if they are coming out of the ground in the 2nd screen.
I look forward to seeing more! :tmb:

I made new large medipack item. (I will rename it in the script at some point.)
It is a Potent Elixir. (The small medi will be called Elixir. The same stuff, smaller and different bottle.)

I love the crystals now- they have improved, with the purple lighting. :) But I think you should improve the middle screen more in lighting and texturing. ;)

Thank you.

I'm just thinking maybe the metal bracing down the side should connect to the bracing on the bottom.

@ Seth94; the slope room is still a work in progress, I am not 100% happy with the texturing. The lighting is fine though... Not sure how you would like to see it improved... It is lit by a big turquoise light at the top of the chamber.

Nice Medipacks. :tmb:

Thank you! :D

I resampled the textures, so they are smoother, less pixelated. So I'm quite happy with them. :D

I was going to post these pics when I had more pics to share, as I did think it worth bumping the thread for but since the thread is now up at the top again, I may as well post them now.

They are elixirs which match the small and large medipacks. :)

Just... the writing on the lid can't really be seen, as the bottles are quite small in game.
I'll leave the lettering on anyway. :D

I was quite unhappy with the Tomb Raider theme music, I wanted to get a slightly different feel, seeing that mine is a fantasy level set. (I will have some TR songs, but I wanted more of a variety to make my levels a bit different.)

I was playing an online game (called Pipe Works) ((Not reallly sure why I was... not much of a game)) and it had this absolutely haunting music. I said to myself, "I absolutely have to have it!!!"

Turned out to be from a movie soundtrack. I found the OST, and I have been listening to it, I'm in love with it completely!!!

Here is one song from the soundtrack, which I want to use as my title flyby, but I will use other songs from the "City of Ember" soundtrack in my game as well.

What do you think? Isn't it gorgeous?

One area of my first stage is a cube maze.

That's right, a cube maze. When Lara steps off of the edge, she marvelously lands on her feet on the next side.
I have not completed the maze yet... I have built the cube six times, in its six possible positions, but I have only textured the first position of the cube.
Still need to texture all of the other positions, and set up the teleport triggers, so that it can be playable.
I thought it may be a good idea to get feedback on how it looked before going to the effort of texturing the copy rooms, otherwise if I change my mind on something, I would have to implement changes in 6 rooms instead of just one.

(The wooden boxes with red writing are going to be death squares, as well as the yellow and beige walls/floors)
((I am fixing the lines on the ceiling, the two sides of the texture are slightly misaligned in the first shot.))
So what do you think? :D

I set yellow lights, and set the ambient light down, but while the lighting looked really intense in the editor window, it looks rather bland in game.

In the editor the walls seem to be glowing, and the cube looks a bit shadowy.

So I will work a bit more on the lighting, to get it to look better. :)

Not so much an update, rather to get feedback.

Looks very very good and original!!

But I think you should make the stones a bit higher, other then that it's great!!!

And I love the name of this project..

I am going to build a tower on a rock spire, to look something like this:

I don't know if mine will be quite so breathtaking, but I can try. :)
