View Full Version : Tomb Raider 1 song titles/names?!
Does anyone know the actual names of all the songs in Tomb Raider 1? The reason I'm asking is because I downloaded the full OST from tombraiderchronicles.com then I put the songs in my iTunes library and I want to name them all so they are easy to get to. If anyone knows the names please list them here or give me a link to where they are already listed. Thanks! :)
Different sites give the songs different names, so I'm not sure if there are any official names for them. Still, I remember seeing some names for some of the tracks...
Track 03 - Time to Run
Track 05 - The Ancient World / Longing for Home
Track 06 - Beautiful and Mysterious
Well, it's a start. :)
TR1 & 2 don't have any official track names. You may as well make them up like the websites do :)

nathan mccree has a few on his site (http://www.mccreemusic.com/tomb_raider.html) with the names he gave them. it's not even close to being complete, but like verdilet said, it's a start.
There are some more track names here (http://gh.ffshrine.org/soundtracks/1205). :)

Sorry for going off topic but damn,Longing For Home is one of the best pieces of video game music ever made.Period.Music like this, combined with the complex and awe inspiring level designs gave the game a feeling and an atmosphere unparalleled by any other game.
They created magic, they created high art.
Again sorry for going :off:

It's quite alright.

Darn Nathan Mcree actually had names for them! well I'm not surprised but to know there are now AFTER I renamed them to my own:vlol: ?!!? These titles sounds interesting...
And INDEED Longing for Home still gives the cHILLS. One of the BEST TRACKS EVER. So sad we didn't get to hear this at all in Anniversary :( But still TRI music still sets to todays standards VERY well

I could have told you what I have named them on my list. :D
I also downloaded the OST from tombraiderchronicles.com. I am building a level set with the level editor, so I downloaded the music from all of the games to give more variety in my choice of music.

I love longing for home it sends chills up my spine :)
The main thing that scared me about TR when i was younger was the music and atmosphere.
One thing I would like is more background noise of environments I always remember in TR2 Offshore rig you could here creaks and thuds etc its so atmospheric

I’m too late to influence here as you’ve named all your tracks but I had the same dilemma so thought I’d share what I named them… I tried to make them sort of library(ish) names like you would find in an archive. I also put them in a preferred order so mine run differently from the default cd play.:)
Icon
Tihocan
Caves
Thor
Folly
Wolf Attack!
Round The Corner
Coliseum
Suspense 1
Suspense 2
Sweet Air
Secret
Eternal Drop
Machine Cog
Scion
Eyes Of The Statue
Qualopec
Midas
Three Pieces
Evolution
Has anyone ever thought of asking Nathan McCree the track names? I've just sent an e-mail, and I hope he responds to it, even if he says he's never had the PlayStation Disc, so he can't supply the names according to the disc.
^I hope he knows how much TR fans love him.It would have been great if Justin could arrange an interview with him.
I so wish he would return...Tomb Raider needs him.:(
As you know, he was going to. I don't think I have the e-mail any more, but Nathan once responded after I asked him if I can use the sample tracks on his site in TRLE. He said he was working on a top-secret project right now, and we all know where that one went. It's be nice if Nathan did the TRAE tracks for the fans.
This may already be a well-known fact, but the PSX disc can be played in a CD player. Just skip Track 1 and you're good to go. (Track 1 does not play. I assume it's a completely different kind of data.)
Having known this for years, a couple of weeks ago I loaded my PSX disc into my computer and imported the music into iTunes. I was surprised to see the tracks had titles. It's entirely possible they were named by a fan and are not official titles, but I didn't name them.
2: Title Music
3: Mysterious
4: Title Music {shortened version 1}
5: Inside the Tomb
6: The Earth Begins To Shake
7: The Tall Room
8: Dangerous Foe
9: Intriguing
10: The Coliseum (sp)
11: The Door Opens
12: Another Door Opens
13: A Secret is Found
14: Another Secret is Found
15: A Discovery
16: Dangerous Foe {shortened version}
17: The Sacred Place
18: The Evil Place
19: Title Music {shortened version 2}
20. Someone is After You
21. The Golden Hand of Midas
The 35 or so remaining tracks on the disc are audio clips--sounds from the cutscenes, and in-game dialogue.

Itunes and WMP will connect to any source available (in it's listings) for track titles. They might not be official, but still, they could be :D

Track 1 carries the game itself :) Mixed CDs had one CDROM track with data and several CDA tracks with music.

I once wrote to Nathan McCree as a fan and I sent a review of the Tomb Raider music he composed. I never heard back. I'm sure he is always busy but not even his PA emailed back.
I was slightly sad as I am a huge fan of his music for Tomb Raider but nevermind eh? Maybe I had the wrong email but I got it from his website...
as if he wants to hear from a puny idiot punko like me!
They should bring him back for future Tomb Raider compositions! They need to pay him more.......!?

Maybe he didn't like your review?
Lol,j/k of course.
Yeah i think his return to TR would make countless fans extremely happy. He somehow managed to really capture the atmosphere and essence of the games like no other ever did.
As i said it would have been very interesting if Justin was able to do an interview with him, covering his past work, his opinion about the games and also his plans for the future.
But i guess maybe some people from Eidos wouldn't like that and understandably Justin wouldn't want to lose his connections with Eidos.
Hmm. One of the music tracks in the Folly is called Miss Jacqueline Natla, AFAIK... It played during the Natla battle as well...
Right, these tracks are identified by Nathan McCree's website:

10 - Longing For Home 1
13 - Secret
17 - Where The Depths Unfold 1
18 - Where The Depths Unfold 3
19 - Main Theme Alternate 2 (Not official but it is alternative)
20 - Time To Run 2
21 - Longing For Home 2

If you have the PS1 version of TR1, if you put it in your computer, you can actually pull the soundtrack off the disk. It's not near as many tracks as on TRC, but that's because that one has all the cuscene audio on it as well.
Anyways, the point is, the soudtrack off the PS1 disk has the track names on them ;)
(I'm not sure about the PC version though)
I think it pulls it from unofficial sources on the web, the most 'popular' list applies for TR1. Don't trsut it - after all, when I put Tomb Raider 2 in my PC, it came up with The Cradle of Life track names instead of the Dagger of Xian names.

my TR2 disc did the same thing. my TR1 disc just said "track 01, track 02..."

Really? The list I originally got was the list you posted a few up:

Different people get different lists. I don't think there's any 'official' track list out there, and without Nathan McCree's help, I honestly don't think we'll get all the cue names.
