View Full Version : Moonwalker on ebay to skyrocket
just saw this (http://cgi.ebay.com/MICHAEL-JACKSONS-MOONWALKER-GENESIS-THRILLER-ALBUM_W0QQitemZ110407470294QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMusi c_on_Vinyl?hash=item19b4cc4cd6&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12|66%3A2|39%3A1|72%3A1205|240%3A13 18|301%3A0|293%3A1|294%3A50) listed past the 1k mark and other games are starting to hit $100-$300. It doesn't surprise me that other people are willing to take advantage of someone's death when they're famous enough, but I can imagine this one is going to get a little out of hand.
Also Micheal starred/supported in other roles for Space Channel 5 and Ready 2 Rumble, I wonder how long it's gonna take for sellers to start figuring that out?
:yik:
That's a ridiculous price to pay for a game that's not even hard to get hold of!
Shame on the people trying to capitalise on Michael's death, and the people stupid enough to pay such a high price deserve to lose their money.
I used to love Moonwalker on the Megadrive though :tmb:
I still have my Megadrive version aswell as the DVD and VHS of the movie.

I still have it.
I've still got it.
Not Moonwalker the game, just generally speaking :pi:
:yik:
That's ridiculous!
Hey, I never knew there was a Moonwalker game! :o
I have only seen the movie.

You're missing out. It was one of the first games I ever played on the Megadrive. You had to free little kids that had been locked up or kidnapped or something and you could build up power to do dances that'd knock out the enemies.

OMG....:vlol:
A bit weird, when you think about it, but who cares? It's amazing, WANT!!
Just not for 2000 bucks. ;)
You have to watch the angry video game nerds take on the moonwalker game. ;)
But I also have the master system game and the VHS of the film.
Oh geez, shame on people for using MJ's death as a way of making money. That's just so wrong!

Its the way the world works. If people want to but this game for such a price, then let them.
I certainly dont think this is a result of using his death maliciously for personal gain. Its just what happens when things like this take place. The game is more valuable now.

OMG that game seems awesome! :D But yeah that price is just crazy!
 That image!
That's the first time I ever saw Michael Jackson. I remember seeing the cover and playing the game at a friends house when I was about 5.
Wow.
It's funny because we have an arcade machine sitting in this very room and Moonwalker is one of the games we have for it. Awesome game from what I can remember.
That's a ridiculous price. How dare they try to make money off his passing. First off, Moonwalker on Genesis isn't even hard to get, if anyone even still uses the dinosaur. Second, whoever is selling that ought to be ashamed of themselves.
It seems like this part of that auction is worth the most:

The girl he rescues is Katie, she was in the Moonwalker movie. Great movie I might add.

Because it went on sale at the time of his death. The seller probably figured he/she could make a lot of money off that.
Wow thats crazy. Although as heartless as it sounds, if i could sell my copy for that much i would. Not out of disrespect for Michael, but because i never really liked the game :/
Because it went on sale at the time of his death. The seller probably figured he/she could make a lot of money off that.Well then that surely makes them greedy and/or foolish, not disrespectful.
damnit, why didnt i get that singles collection a couple years ago, i could of made a bomb with it (this is another word for making loads of money, not that im going to make a bomb, no put that phone down dont you dare call the... oh no you dint put the phone down)

How ironic

there was also a arcade version of Moonwalker game, i have it emulated on my pc along with 1000 others ;).
Things keep going like they are, emulation is the only choice the rest of us will have left.
I don't advocate piracy, but I don't advocate filling the pockets of price gougers either.
Well then that surely makes them greedy and/or foolish, not disrespectful.
Well I find it disrespectful as well.
Well I find it disrespectful as well.
I do too.
That's capitalizing on someone's name, plain and simple.

I haven't played Moonwalker but, from what I can tell, it's probably the best game the AVGN has ever reviewed. :p
