I don't get this line.

Lara: There's a keypad here Zip, do you know any good Kazakh codes off hand?"

Zip: No, but I can hum along if you do the singing

What does Zip mean?

I've never even heard that line in the game. Either that or my memory is very faulty. What part of the Kazakhstan level is it at?

I never heard it either, is it on a specific version?

Those are "secret" sayings in the game. If you look around very much and keep exploring, you will find other sentences.

But I didn't get it either:confused:

it's an ooooooooold joke. it's like asking someone if they know the words to a song so they can sing it together. the other person then says, "no, but if you hum a few bars i can fake it" or something similar.

seriously, this joke has been in movies as long as movies have had sound. it's cliche. so, i think zip's just trying to make her laugh with this ancient joke.

it wouldn't surprise me at all if the joke was too old for a lot of people here to know it. i'm in my 30s and it's old to me. :D

i actually heard it on that show Leverage this week.

As Stereopathic says, it's a very old joke/cliche. But I always thought it was more like "If you hum a few bars, I can fake it." Either way, it's very silly.

Ha, yea they are kinda annoying, it was the best part when they got cut out in Africa, all nice and peaceful.

Lara: There's a keypad here, Zip. Do you know "any good Kazakh codes" off hand?

Zip made a joke referring to Lara's question as if "any good Kazakh codes" was a song and she asked if he knew it off hand, when she was really just asking if he knew any codes that the Kazakhs would have used.

His jokes weren't even funny.

Yep, this joke's as old as the hills and this is my favourite version of it:); at the end of this tea advert:

And this advert's as old as the hills too. I can remember it when I was a kid.
Several of my family and friends still keep saying: "You hum it son and I'll play it".:o;)
Alister must've really enjoyed old/bad jokes.:p
