It was so much easier back then... http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/mischievous.gif
That's because it was simply a shell, not the actual OS.
I menitoned this in the SP2 woes thread, and posted this image:

Yes I remember it. I still have an IBM portable with a built in 7" monochrome monitor with this on it. Weighs a bloody ton! :D

I have vague recollections of it, although my first PC came with Windows 95. Before that, I used Commodore Amiga ;)
Windows 3.1?! The oldest I know of is 95. Is this the first one? looks interesting.
My first acqaintance to computers was with the DOS - pc of a friend. Only text. And Pac Man. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif
My own first pc ran on Windows 98SE. I soon bought Tombraider 1, 2, 3. :D

OMG! I wouldn't have that if my life depended on it. Thank God for new tech and XP http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/jumper.gif
I had a copy of Windows 1.0 (it was shipped on one 3.5" floppy disk) ;)
A few screenshots of Windows 1.0:

http://www.digibarn.com/collections/software/microsoft/windows10/TN_Image62.JPG http://www.digibarn.com/collections/software/microsoft/windows10/TN_Image82.JPG
Just a quick info: it was released in 1985. When I said that it was shipped on one floppy disk, I meant that the content will fit one of today's floppy disks. In 1985, it was (i think) 10 x 5.25" 172KB floppy disks.
A few more screnshots and I'll stop :D

Please look at bottom to see the clock ;)
I really like Windows XP http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/jumper.gif
It's shocking isn't it, to look back and see what we used to work with. But look on the bright side, imagine what our pc's will look like in another 20 years!
Gotta love that clock though! :D Oh god I just noticed the 5" floppy disks.

aaaaaaaaaah the days of formatting disks!!! Such hard work!!! LOL ;)
While GUI advancement is nice, it would be nice if you could make XP tell you what it is doing instead of guessing.

Ugh! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yuck.gif
I never had a chance to see Windows 1.0 (thanks Bokkie). I skipped from DOS directly to Win 3.1. DOS... So many things you had to do manually... Floppy disks, commands, DAVE ( http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif )... I prefer my beloved XP and 3D Lara!!
