View Full Version : PS3 Marvel vs Capcom delayed two weeks after 360 release
http://www.gameinformer.com/NR/exeres/5F73A959-E9E4-4A4B-AD4F-FCDA476F503E.htm
It seems the 360 has a short timed exclusive.
I really don't see why MS likes to waste money for these short time exclusives like they also did with the RE5 demo...It's not like someone will rush out to buy a 360 just because of one or a two week difference from the PS3 release...
I'm so glad that Sony doesn't play this silly game and instead they put their money on internal and 2nd party development.:D

Go figure, not like its gonna hurt sales for the ps3 though so I dont get it lol.

Siiiiiigh...
That's great. That's really great. Super-dee-duper.
Think about. If you own both consoles (I have noticed that rabid PS3 fans are less likely to fall into this category) and you want this game you are more likely to buy it for the 360. Thus the sales for the 360 go up and MS gets more licensing fees while sales for the PS3 go down.
How many people have both consoles? And how many out of those people could be interested in the game in the first place?Even so,many of those may not have the money to buy the game when it's out and decide it to buy later on when the price of the game might go down. Then all this "exclusivity" would be for nothing.Well done MS.:p
Also don't be so fast to predict which version will sell more...
TRU had full promotion by MS+exclusive demo+DLC,but ultimately sold much better on PS3.;)

nvm
Who in gods name would be stupid enough to fork out $200 for a 360 just because of a 2 week wait for the ps3 version, specialy in these times. I highly doubt anyone, so i repeat Microsoft are wasting there time and making themselves look like money hungry idiots again.
He referred at those who already have both consoles.;)

Oh...well my bad lol

It is something that I have noticed on many sites where discussion of the various consoles come up. PS3 owners always cite that they can play 360 games on their PCs since many 360 games frequently are 360/PC verisons. They frequently make this claim as a reason for not buying a 360.
I find this curious since a gaming PC costs much more that a 360. So folks buy the most expensive console and they buy a gaming PC but claim they can not afford to buy a 360.

Like it hasn't been done before. /sarcasm. I remember it happened with the RE5 demo. But it's all good. As long as we get it, I'll be happy. :D

Yes but many out of those people (or their fathers) might already have good enough PC's so i think it's a reasonable argument.I don't think these people would buy or built a costly gaming PC when they could easily spend far less money buying a 360 instead.
But maybe in some cases it might be more economical to buy the latest graphic card in order to play a few games instead of a whole new console.
And btw,i have also read some very silly excuses from 360 fans as well for not buying a PS3.;)
When Iask folks why they do not have a PS3, the answer I get most often ids that it costs too much and all of their friends play on-line with the 360. (Living in the States that makes sense, since the 360 installed base is much larger).
The one thing that I find really interesting is that rarely do I hear any mention of the various game libraries that exist for each console. If they are mentioned, it is more in justification for a console purchase that is already made. I would have guessed that it would be the other way around.

I find it interesting that the thread about MAG being delayed until 2010 is getting no attention while this one regarding a 2 week difference between releases is...
If MAG were mutliplatform and the 360 version was only delayed until 12-31-09 while the PS3 version were to release on 01-09-10 everyone would be fired up! :p
OH FOR :cen: SAKE!!
I'm so sick of Microsoft doing these exclusivity deals. You've been greedy enough with the adverts and NOW you want MORE MONEY again?! :hea:
Quit this rubbish now! Isn't your BILLIONS of pounds enough?

Alright... this is enough already.
Nowhere does that article say WHY there's a two week delay; and nowhere does it say MS paid anything to be first.
NOTE: I just found out there was NO, repeat NO demo for Xbox Live... yet there was one for PSN... where's the complaining? Gee Sony must have paid to keep the demo exclusive!!!

Actually, these seemingly small movements are how much of business competition is conducted. More companies have been nickled and dimed to death then they have been done in by grandeous gestures.
Being offended by a company competing with a rival is rather strange IMO.

There is nothing surprising about MAG being delayed and that is for two reasons:
Firstly they are trying to do something that has never been done before in such scale.I'm sure there are many technical challenges that the developers have to face and they'll take this time to improve the game even more.
Secondly,it's a new IP and the holiday season is not exactly favourable to new IP's.Sega did the same thing with Bayonetta.
So i think it was a clever move to delay it.
*sorry for getting off-topic*

The MAG announcement was never really a surprise- I would have been more amazed if it had launched on time.
Anyway, its good to see that Capcom loves to get money from everyone equally. They sell the demo and then the release date.

Gaming PC doesn't have a 30% failure rate :p
Seriously though, I won't buy a consumer product that is almost guaranteed to break. Consumers should demand better.
Hmm, methinks I'll wait two weeks happily, hell, that's if I even buy the game.

Ditto
2 weeks is fine. What really matters is being able to plug in your arcade stick without having to re-mod it for M$' benefit.
So stupid..
Agreed.

I disagree.

I have had more hard disk crashes, bad video cards, motherboard issues, etc. etc. with PCs then I have ever had with a 360. Don't get me started on how unreliable PCs can be.:)

I disagree.
I dont see how when MS try to get money out of ya anyway they can, and capcom re-releases every game they have over and over on every system to milk every last dollar they can out of there series:whi:

Well, I agree about Crapcpm but MS doesn't always milk the cash cow. Sure, some of the stuff they do is ridiculous but most of the stuff they do is just for competition like Project Natal for example.
