#1: The crawl corner bug isn't supposed to work if there's a roof or overhang above the corner, right? So then, why can you do it using the corner right outside of Lara's front door, and pass right through the two overhangs to end up on top of the roof? Or am I just misunderstanding the directions for the bug? [ANSWERED]

#2: When you go on top of the roof, there's a square that's half orange and half water pattern (there's another one of these in Temple Ruins on top of the slope before you enter the waterfall area before the temple). I was just wondering what they're there for.

Sounds like you've been reading Stella's "Useful Bugs" page. Bugs are not her main thing, and it's more complicated than that.

You mean this crawl bug, right?

Here's the same corner from the inside (TombViewer pic). As we go up, here both walls stop:

And a little higher, we see the stopping point is the roof.

This surface (the roof) is inside game space, so the game engine decides she must be up there.

But what about here?

A crawl bug caused this also. Why doesn't Lara go all the way to the roof?

Here's where the walls run out, in the center of the picture (one wall stopped lower).

But as you can see, this is NOT in game space, so the engine decides she can't be here. Apparently it decides she must be where one of the two walls stopped, down in the main hall.

There might be a better way to describe it, this is my inference from what I can see.

Another reasonable explanation. Who said TR couldn't enclose it's own objectivity? I'm pretty sure you've made a thread before about how there are superposed rooms, but the engine recognize them separately. The place i'm referring too is the platform where she's supposed to monkeyswing, i think it collides with the attic?

wow I never new there where secret rooms around, can you get there with a position editor? This is not a secret room area, and is not in the game at all, so position editor cannot be used.

rr_carroll is actually using Tombviewer, which shows the location of TR model rooms to scale within the x, y, z co-ordinates of the game.

Thats why his last picture shows a void area between roof and the ceiling of the upper floor rooms, and as he states this is a non-game space, so it is not extra secret rooms.

Tombviewer can even show TR model rooms that are in the same space but not at the same time in the game :cln: ....

The UFO in area 51 is a good example as it shows a small UFO in a hanger within the building, and then once you are inside the UFO it is massive, with 3 levels of floors, just like the TARDIS.

So with Tombviewer you end up with the UFO superimposed, with parts of the 3rd level of the UFO hanging outside of the building that houses it, weird !

Ohhh, I get it now. Thanks guys :D

If I have another question about Lara's home, should I add it to this thread, or start a new one?

We'll just assume the title is "Questions about Lara's Home". :)

About your answer (http://www.tombraiderforums.com/showpost.php?p=2778789&postcount=20) in the other thread - I'm not sure that's entirely correct. At least in TRLE, there is no need for such a texture. But maybe it works differently in the TR3 engine - the water textures certainly look different.

At least in Lara's Home, I feel pretty sure the texture is there just by accident (no flowing water in that level).
