View Full Version : Now I know why the doppelganger didn't die...

When you play the Original TR1 (The classic one) when you finish the doppelganger in the atlantic level, she will fill down into the hole of fire, try to stand in front of the hole and look down at her, the door must still open or you have to open it again if it closed, try to jump or draw your pistols and shoot, you will notice that she's acting the same, is it a bug or that's a reason of why the doppelganger was still alive and turned into Lara's shadow... LOL!!

LOL!! Yes it must be a bug, I was kidding about the doppelganger, I just wanted to show you a silly bug that I discovered :vlol: I like it actually.

@ OP it hasn't meant to be a bug at all. d/g dies only when Lara does. Once d/g passed the trigger zone, the door opens and Lara can proceed. D/G just stays in Lava pit. That has been discussed in many threads. Here for example:

This already is a known bug, actually. It happens lots of times.:) It's fun to see the doppleganger imitating Lara no matter what, even if it's burning to death :mis:

Yes they are different games. Tomb Raider 1 was made in 1996 as it was. Then Crystal Dynamics remade it in 2007 and changed parts of the plot to acommudate their own plotline (TRL - TRA - TRU). Tomb Raider 1 had absolutely nothing to do with Tomb Raider Underworld.

Anyway Drone already explained why Bacon Lara acts like that.

Anyway, that Bacon Lara is CORE's version, Crystal made a new one in their TRA, i would like to point out that TRI and TRA share two different stories.

and besides, the meaty-doppelganger in Crystal's version died, the Redhaired one is a new one.

TR1 and TRA are exactly the same story told slightly differently and 1 character was dropped in the remake. TRA and TR1 have the same doppelganger and in both games she dies, end of story. The one appearing in TRU was obviously a different doppelganger, she had skin, hair and a mind of her own. And if the player missed those 3 obvious differences Lara even tells us they are different and why.

If you wanna reaaaaally get technical about it, then if it didn't die when it fell down the hole, i'm pretty sure the huge ass explosion at the end would have finished it off.
