There's quite a few old threads for this, and since the movie is releasing next friday I guess it should be okay to start a new one.

So basically, Rob Zombie returns to finish what he started. In the second movie that's not a remake of the original second Halloween it focuses mainly on Laurie's character and how she starts to go insane. I think the movie has potential to be good, but rob has already stated in interviews "It's extremely violent" But I might like this better than the first since he doesn't have to stay true to the second film. I'm 95% sure I'm seeing this in theaters. Thoughts?

I'm seeing it the day it comes out. Michael Myers is my best friend, among other things, :wve:.

Thread one, last posted in 2 months ago (which means it doesn't break the bumping rule):

Thread two, too old to post in:

3 month bump rule, you're safe to post in the first thread.:p

:tmb: I love Rob Zombie and I think he is amazing at writing. You can head over to http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/film/1612/headlines to check out some of the interviews/videos/etc. There's some spoilers to :whi:

I still do not understand the logic in that thread. I understand if the thread is ancient, like...six months ancient, but even still, if it's a thread about a movie or anything else relevant, that rule shouldn't pertain.

Well apparently if the post is something big or adding more to the topic than it's not really that big of a deal to bump. Don't quote me on that, I just remember a mod saying something like that when I mentioned ressurecting another thread.

I used the "search" button before I posted, the last thread got closed so I wasn't sure if I should post a whole new one or just bump an old one.

On topic, I really can't wait for this. I loved the remake so I look forward to seeing more of his vision.:D

I think that he is really good at making things look scary and I like his version of Halloween as a horror movie in it's own. Yes it is a terrible halloween movie and now that I know his version is rather his vision of halloween rather than a remake I understand it better and understand why it is the way it is (:p).
Only thing I hate about his movies is that they are practically pornos, despite that I will see H2.

This. I saw the first one with my dad, and was left red faced throughout the entire movie. It's a bit unnecessary but hey, what's a horror movie without constant sex? :p

I know, right? It gets kind of annoying after awhile. Sex doesn't make a movie good, people.

Looks like it will be the same case for H2
Relax; I'm joking! Of course it got an R! That's right, kids, a big fat R too for "Strong brutal bloody violence throughout, terror, disturbing graphic images, language, some crude sexual content, and nudity". Well ... the formula is right!

lol true, but I think he goes overboard with it. I saw it with my mom and brother and yeah it was extremely awkward. Never seeing any of his movie with them again.

Oh please yourself, you said 'says you' and I gave my opinion, do you honestly think that Rob Zombie's gutter of a version could hold up to the classic that John Carpenter created in 1978, he literally spent 50 minutes building up to first murder of Annie by Michael, whereas Rob Zombie had more swearing and sex scenes than some of the Friday The 13th movies combined, Halloween was all about atmosphere, tension and the metaphorical portrayal of evil in our society, and how one little boy suddenly cracked one night, one little boy who had an ordinary life, one little boy who was, and I quote: 'Purely and Simply, evil.', not because he had a stripper for a mother and an abusive step father. Is that really what horror has evolved into? If so, send me back in time.

However, I'll leave you to your snidey little deluded comments, they seem to be the only source of pleasure you get on this forum ;)

oh god, sex in horror movies is an awful cliche these days. "jason is coming after us, what do we do?!" "lets have sex!" -_-

What a waste of a post.

Anyway, moving on. While I understand that half the victims in horror films are teens and 90% of teens have sex on the mind, it tends to get overdone in horror films these days. Half the time, I watch a movie and end up having to check if the DVD is the proper one--I don't know if I'm watching a horror film or a pornography film.

It's ridiculous and one of the many reasons I stay away from horror films. But I'm addicted to Michael Myers, so I'll watch them regardless. I already told myself I'm seeing this the day it's released, so put that in your tea and sip it, Rob Zombie haters.

I fail to see how it's a waste, do enlighten me, I gave a very brief contrast of both the remake and the original...god it pains me to even call it a 'remake', I'll just refer to Halloween 2007 as 'it'. Trust me, I could've went into much, much, greater detail, but if that's your way of dealing with contrasting arguments, I won't. I'm not a Rob Zombie hater, 'it' would've worked good had it not been a Halloween film, I enjoyed 'The Devils Rejects' because it was original, we usually never see the antagonists journey throughout the entire feature. The fact of the matter is, as soon as I heard such charming lines as (I believe they went along these lines, my memory of October 2007 is a little fuzzy), ''She got her a sweet little dumper'' or ''Choke the chicken purge.....'' look up the rest of it, it pains me to even type some of it, I knew I was in for a car crash of a movie faster than you can say Ben Tramer.

Oh and feel free to post all the GIFs you want if it makes you feel good

Well I don't see how people can like a film that's not even been released, plus, with that claim I would expect you to post that to every single contrasting argument/discussion on this forum, general discussion as far as I'm aware means both sides of the argument, and I sure as hell gave valid reasons as to why I disliked it. If I find something in this sequel I like or think is a good idea, then I'll give credit, where credit is due.

On topic, umm, yes, here's a photo of Michael:

All right Alice Cooper poster :p

I agree with you, you are allowed to post the negatives after all the OP asked for peoples thoughts.
I know I will enjoy this movie just because of the fact that I pretty much enjoy every movie I see in theaters.

The original Halloween by John Carpenter is one of my all time favourite films. I am still really looking forward to this tho, it's not a remake. I don't expect it to be anywher near as good but I'm sure it will be entertaining.
