Quick question: Is the "campaign" mode only online 2 player co-op, or is it also offline 2 player co-op?

You can play it online or offline. When online there will be 2 characters fighting as a team, one controlled by you and the other controlled by your online partner.

When offline, there will still be 2 characters fighting as a team, one controlled by you and the other controlled by the CPU. At least thats what I read.

Tekken is beginning to lose it's appeal for me now, after so many sequels.

I've always found Nina, Anna and Xiaoyu easiest to play with.

But yeah, this might be the first Tekken game I'll pass.

I don't mind games having loads of sequels as long as there are enough changes & innovations between each one to keep it fresh. I think Tekkens one of those franchises that constantly innovates & stays fresh & i've been a fan since 8 years old and am still not bored with it.

But I also think it differs from person to person what holds their attention if you know what i mean.

I just don't think the same. :) Yes the game has evolved nicely between sequels. I guess I'm just getting bored of the game. Maybe I've played it too much and it has lost it's sparkle. Who knows.

It looks extremely expensive to customize in T6 but I think it'll be easier to get money.

I'm pretty sure Campaign Mode offline is only one Player. If you play with Lars, your partner is Alisa, if you play with Alisa, you partner is Lars, and if you play with anyone else, Alisa will be your partner. It follows a storyline with cutscenes with the two characters fighting interacting with each other and that's why offline isn't multiplayer. Online I'm pretty sure you're just playing certain levels you've chosen and you can play with anyone. I'm pretty sure if there's enough demand for 2 player offline campaign mode, AND if Bamco cares enough, they can release a patch.

You guys are exaggerating about the delays in fact there hasnt been any delays at all. Granted it was first announced in 07, but there was no announcement for a Tekken 6 console port anyway. They decided to wait and port the update Bloodline Rebellion to the consoles.

I don't know... I've read that the creators were praising the fact that campaign was online. I don't think they'd talk much about it if it were a stupid mini-game-like mode where you just fight and don't follow story..

I'm just hoping so badly that it would be local 2 player...:(

C'mon Hwaorang is a beginner character :D His kick moves are so easy to pull off. The good news for everyone else is, the people who take that technique are usually predictable enough to counter.

When I first started with Hwoarang I used to just press X constantly but I find myself using his stances lots more now. He's really hard to learn when you take into account all the stances and all the different moves he can pull off and in which stance he can use it in etc.

Not necessarily, I know it sounds strange but when getting started, I usually pick fighters that I think are interesting and cool as characters and then I carry on from there, learning their moves & techniques. There are some fighters I do use even though I think as a character they're crap though. I'm eager to use Lars in the new game, he looks interesting as a character and from the gameplay vids I watch he seems to be a good fighter with a good move set.

Maybe for you, but I love it, I been playing it every day since I got it. ;) I can't exactly be picky. :p Besides, I got Bruce Lee mods for Fei Long, what more can I want.

Like I said I'm not picky, the game is fun and looks great so I'm happy with it. Besides, I'm not a good player (as you probably guessed, since the last fighting games I played were Mortal Kombats on PC...) so it's hard enough for me to use combos with the moves they have now, I honestly don't need more.

...Ok I kinda wish Fei Long had more moves but that's not a reason for not liking the game.

ugh, i hated that outfit in tekken tag. But atleast its interesting. Me thinks though that anna is slowly crossing the line of fashionable, that ugly blue suit and the zebra jumpsuit along with her new hooker outfit turn me off abit.

It's not really THAT big of a deal, they're giving TONS of customizing options so in essence there was no need to change their main outfits because you can customize pretty much anything you want.

she and eddy didnt win the king of iron fist tournement 5. they both lost. i dont know why they are both crying in black though because i heard that eddy is now working for jin as a deal. this deal is that eddy works for jin as one of his tekken force members in exchanged for grandpa's life. :confused: and that eddy just left christie by herself without notice. that is why christie is entering the king of iron fist tournement 6. (to find eddy!)

Nina could win. She's Jin's bodyguard and this gives Anna a chance as well because she joins G corp (which is pretty much everything having to do with Kazuya) to find Nina.

Also, Kazuya didn't win Tekken 2, but he won Tekken 1. And where the hell is Kunimitsu? She's like disappeared and I want her back. And I also want to see Jane (Jack's creator) to be a character in the next Tekken. She's always being mentioned and she has to have some kind of martial arts training in order to build a fighting robot.

i use alot of different combos with her but i get alot of complaints from people saying that i'm a button masher. (i usually win when usiing lili). so i guess you are! :ton: she doesnt have alot of different moves though :(

Yeah, but I don't get the whole button mashing thing.

Tekken Tag didn't even actually happen. I anticipate a comeback from her in Tekken 7. And Jun's been replaced by Asuka, and she's dead so she obviously won't be returning.

Jcmp, about your Nina, can you do her 'twitching' air juggles? (b1+4, df3, 2, d, 1b, uf4, f1+4) <- I think those are the right notations

there is no cutscene of jun's death but if you are talking about kunimistu then there kind of is a cutscene. it is at the end of yoshimitsu's story in tekken tag tournement.

yeah i know...... i'm a bit disappointed too. but maybe our feelings to it will change when we get the game ourselves and play it. remember, there are new characters now with new moves (and updated moves for the older characters including new ones), and new customization possibilities, a new co-op mode and new stories! so it is actually better then tekken 5. the only things that remind me of the tekken 5 are the starter outfits for the characters

Personally I think this game will suck.... I used to love beat-em ups but here has been nothing new or innovative about them since Tekken 2. Im fed up n boreed with this franchise n every time they release a new one I wait with baited breathe for something to surprise me. This one has yet to do that! Ach well they dont need to make much effort if people still buy their games I suppose!

I can't say that it will suck and i'm still somewhat excited about it.

But i get what you're saying...I was a massive hardcore Tekken fan since Tekken 3,spent ridiculous amounts of time with all Tekken games since 3 (not so much with 5) and mastered almost all the characters.To be honest i kinda feel burned out with this series because ever since T3 there was no significant innovation to revitalize it.T6 looks to be the same as it's predecessors.I know that fighting games is a genre that is hard for developers to innovate but it looks like the developers don't even try anymore.Actually the main reason i will buy T6 is because Namco promised for a much better online service than the lagging atrocity that was DROnline.
Tekken is still the best fighting game out there and i'm sure the developers are thinking that "if it ain't broken don't try to fix it" but after 7 almost identical games they must sit down and think new ways to revitalize the series.

I probably won't watch the Tekken Movie. I bet its going to end up like D.O.A :o But I'm a decent fan of Tekken, my first game was Tekken 2, I still play it because I think it's better than the rest. I tried Tekken 6 at my local Arcade and to be honest, it seems to be a polished up version of T5: DR. The graphics are nice, and the gameplay is abit better, but it still feels like I'm playing Tekken 5. But, I think I'm still going to get it, just because i own with Julia. And about the discussion you're having about her, I think she's changed. She's grown into Michelle more than to herself. I think they should just bring Michelle back as an unlockable, and revert Julia into herself. It'll explain the story between Michelle and Julia better and there'll be a plot for Julia, like in Tekken 3. Now she is just caring about the environment. And I don't know where the Nina and Anna thing is going.

But the good thing about Tekken 6 is the customization, I'm glad it improved. :)

nina is going to be working for jin kazama
anna is going to be working for kazuya

The final bosses are always cheap. I hate that about Tekken. In T5 Jinpachi did the same combo and shot fire out of his stomach. Azazel puts pillars in front of you in T6.

The final bosses are always cheap. I hate that about Tekken. In T5 Jinpachi did the same combo and shot fire out of his stomach. Azazel puts pillars in front of you in T6.

I thought Jinpachi from Dark Resurrection was easier, though. However, Devil Jin, who was a pushover in T5, became a GOD.

And you did well not to buy it.
Controls,graphics and off-line mode were amazing but the on-line mode (which was its selling point) was horrible due to inexcusable lagging issues that had nothing to do with each players internet connection.

I also play(ed) SCIV. I main Setsuka. I retired from that about a month ago. I've played it consistently for about the last year, and since Tekken 6 comes out this month, I recently started playing it more often and got more used to the controls. But yeah, I'm a huge Soul Calibur fanboy. I don't think I'll ever go to a tournament though because everyone who plays fighting games are weird. Haha.

I left 8way a while ago, though, and I get along with everyone here and I have friends here (You, Mason). But fighting games are fun, and I like being the normal outcast :p

Taki is so cheap when not played right. I can play her fairly, but alot of people online spam her floor bombs like they're the coolest things ever.

i'm not to sure but i am getting it on the 360........ i'm just not too happy about the fact that i must move my character with the thumbstick instead of the d-pad.... it will be uncomfortable with the d-pad and it is way too small for use!
