I can't get the save game feature to work. Is this a known problem? I'm about halfway through the game, and I'd like to take a break and play something else, but I don't want to start over.

does a message appear telling you that there is not enough space on the Memory Card? if so, I'm afraid you'll have to turn off your game and free some space on the card. Or just buy a new card from your local video game shop :)

No message. It just goes to save, and "completes" in about a half second. When I try to load the game, it starts at the beginning. My card could be full. Will a PS1 card work in a PS2? I have several of those lying around. Can they be swapped while the console is on? Will it disrupt the game in progress?

I had this problem. But nothing at all is wrong. Just as usual, go to save and then select a profile to save it on on the right half of the menu.

are you enjoying it on PS2?

I had no end of problems with saving on my PS2 version. The number of times the game locked up when I saved it grew too numerous to count. It stopped me playing the game for a month because it would corrupt my save and I'd have to start again every time it happened. And considering the PS2 version is so dire, that wasn't something I enjoyed

Locked up? As in froze when saving? I've never had that. :o

No my game never locked up while saving either, but then mine never had any bugs and I tried all sorts of strange things, so certainly tested it out. It was refreshing to be able to get places or at least try to without getting Lara stuck in the graphics like she does in the next gen games.

Yep. I got as far as Mexico, saved at the start and the damn piece of crap locked up on me again. So I stopped playing it. It would happen 3 times out of 10 saves, an alarming (and infuriating) regularity quite frankly.

When I eventually went back to it, I was forced to play the game without saving. Something which, to be honest, wasn't exactly that hard because the PS2 version's so lame.
