Im a performing arts student and we need to pick a solo song from a musical, but the one i find are too obvious or hard to sing, or i dont like them.

So please help and post a song from a musical you like that is for a solo artist, isnt too obvious and isnt too hard to sing.

obvious - chicago, moulin rouge

EDIT: also i was negotiating with me p.a teacher to do a taylor swift too -

so tim mcgraw or mary's song?

Cell Block Tango - Chicago the Musical

That could be great fun if you've got some friends with you to perform the other parts considering there's different voices doing each part of the song. But if you're looking for a solo:

I Dreamed a Dream

Such a beautiful song.

"The Worst Pies in London" or "By The Sea" from Sweeney Todd.

Not that hard to sing.

I'd say a Wicked song but loads of people sing those nowadays.

OOH! Or RENT. Although those are mostly duets. Out Tonight is a good song!

Darn. Rent is amazing!!! If you can pull off the Cockney then people are usually impressed by Mrs. Lovett's songs from Sweeney Todd as they are Sondheim and they are supposedly hard to sing.
