View Full Version : Extra Slots?
Hey there, how do I put Statics in the extra slots so they show up in the editor? :o
I believe you have to put it in one of the regular static slots then rename it.
Ooohhh ok Ill try that, thanks <3
EDIT: And now Im getting subscript nine errors....
I assume you're talking about WadMerger. Do you have the latest version?
I believe so. Where would I download the newest version?
TRSearch (http://www.trsearch.org/Tools/22/) has 1.98 Beta 3
Don't forget the VB6 runtimes if you don't already have them.
The extra slots only seem to show up in the NGLE after all the other slots have been filled. But I'm not absolutely sure about this.
Anyway, if you want to put an object in an extra slot you have to
hold the Shift button while clicking the Copy button in WADMerger.
Select the EXTRA** slot from the list and click the Copy button of the list.
Your object will now show up in the WAD list with the same name it had in the wad you copied it from.
So, for example, if you have an object in PLANT2 slot and you want to copy it into EXTRA10 slot, it will first show up as PLANT2. You will then have 2 PLANT2 objects in your wad, if there was already a PLANT2 present in it.
Continueing with the example, now select the second PLANT2 object and Rename it to EXTRA10. It will stay in the same position in the object list, but this is no problem.
Save the wad.
I knew it had something to do with renaming :p
Thank you so much Titia.. This would have been nice to know long ago hahaha
I have no idea why it works like this.
But I figured it out myself eventually. And now I'm so used to it that I often forget that others might not know how to do it... :o
a problem in adding extra slots for statics is that you cannot miss a slot: you have to use them all in order. In fact, if you jump a slot, for example, after the extra slot 22nd you go to the extra slot 25th, missing 23rd and 24th, you get an error message in wadmerger when you want to import/add a new static. Simply you have to fill in every slot in order and do not miss any one.

Nah, the extra slot are only statics :s
ok thanks
You can however use all the MIP slots, including the enemie-MIP slots.
But the enemie-MIP slots can't be animated, weird things happen if you do, and they don't have any collision. ;)
