If this thread is to remain open, lets stay on topic.:p

seriously though this could be a good place to discuss admirable qualities / requirements of moderators, for those who'd be interested in the position.

You never ask for the moderatorposition, it's earned.

My guesses is that you have to be constantly online and have good record since you became a member. Other than that it's Justin's preferences that enables you to be selected.

You'll become one in due time Spike. :p

I believe it may require patience and understanding with a calm, yet respectful approach to an escalated situation. A moderator has to make many choices that involve logic and in addition to that, they must also be able to enforce rules (and by that note follow them). I believe when a member has exemplified many of these responsible, mature, and unbiased traits, they may earn the position.

In other words, as Mads stated, you earn it by contributing positively to the community rather than asking or applying. And butt-kissers are rarely considered. :p

Mhmmm, there's a few of them. :pi:

Yeah, but they're a dying breed nowadays even at the risk of sounding like one. :p I will admit that I do find it a bit of a pet peeve everytime people post links referencing past threads for various reasons. Although I have to say I always thought spikejones would make a good moderator because of the presence and the way he handles himself. You can tell he is mature enough to make rational decisions (well most of the time :p)

You never ask for the moderator position, it's earned.

Thing is, if people ask to be mods without earning it or proving themselves, you'll end up with a lot of power hungry people...people that need to be slapped. :pi:

Too late. You already did that in your previous post :p

Have a Penguin altar and worships it everyday....

Examples includes this:

and this:

Notice the cans of tuna in the last pic. Those are deemed as bonus points.
