View Full Version : HOw do you make vocal's harmonize?
oh you are just the worst kind of person :p thanks, I guess...
but I rather ask a person that than just go to some random link and see.
Yeah, sorry about that :D
I know nothing about the topic myself, just thought a little bit of Googling might help. Someone with some actual knowledge might come along and help out soon though :)
Use keys that may work together or use a different octave...
Refer to the chords. For example if the chord is C major, then the triad would be CEG, you can harmonize using these notes.
The 6th apart rule is also popular: if the melody is E then the counter melody would be lower G.
Also, try to avoid putting notes right next to each other like, C and D, (aka, a 2nd)
However, if they are farther apart, ex - C,E,G,B (C major 7th,), then it sounds good.
I'm a musician/singer, and I can tell you that once you get the basic ideas that also rowanlim posted, then you can transpose it to any key. For example - D,F#A = D major, E,G,B, - E minor, etc
