lara's original adventure was granted the honor of being inducted into ign.com's video game hall of fame. it joins a stellar class including the original Baldur's Gate and Metroid.

Tomb Raider was an instant classic when it hit store shelves back in 1994 and the series still lives on today. Despite the updated graphics that the latest round of consoles brings and all of the new “details” that they afford Lara’s character model, there’s no question that the original article is still the cream of the crop.

Congrats Tomb Raider. Although i thought TR2 improved over the orginal and TR3 was further improved, but i suppose TR1 is the orginal.

Never liked IGN. This is no accolade as far as I'm concerned. And to add insult, they can't even get be bothered to get Lara's name or the year right.

Yeah i agree. I think theres alot of people out there who unfortunately never got the REAL reason why Tomb Raider was so good and so succesful. It was because of the fantastic level design and well placed puzzles combined with the sense of loneliness and wonder you felt the first time round aswel as the great set pieces and ambient music.
Some people think it was just all the teen boys raving about a woman with big tits and thats why it was a success :cen:

Good to see TR is atleast getting what it deserves
It should be any Hall of Fame that involves games of all kinds and years of release.
