burning up in the palace midas

no matter how hard i try or how fast i run i CANNOT git past the third burning column in the palace midas!!! i'm ready to take a burning axe to the whole friggin' thing if i dont git past this dang fire! please tell me the secret!

This is another one of those very frustrating timming puzzles. If you cant make it past the third column without getting set ablaze your not going fast enough. What you need to do is step onto the lowered section of floor and watch the fire go out. Now start running and jumping! Dont take the time to line yourself up or even stop running once you reach a column..just keep that finger on the run button and jump button. If you do get caught on fire, you can jump down to the water below and put yourself out. Beware of the discustingly large rats though. Dont worry Flykiller my dear I have every confidence in you! You'll get it!

now, what about my problem in the once dry water tank that was at FIRST dry THEN water filled and is NOW (after dispatching the guard & flipping the switch) DRY AGAIN so i hadda monkey swing across only to find myself in a hallway that led nowhere but to a large medipac that trapped me behind a big door-so i decided to for-go that, & pick up the small medipac at the start of the hallway & then drop to the small shelf below and then make a very surprizing and death-defying leap into the small square pool of left-over H2o in the floor of the aformentioned tank only to end up trapped at the bottom of the vat or if i take the wet trip down the watery corridor ending up in what looks like a cathedreal of some sort-where i git to gather up a hand full of goodies-but otherwise, this is NOT the water-control room that i'm supposed to be going back to that started this whole wet & messy thing in the first place, dilemma from TR3 that no one wants to help me with?
