The one in the beginning of St. Francis Folly with the slopes was pretty hard, and all the ones in Atlantis were of course rather difficult..
Which secret caused you the most grief?:ton:
The second secret in St. Francis Folly. I was playing through the game for the first time with all the secrets and I just:hea:. Could :hea:. Not :hea:. Do it.
:hea:
It took me forever to get it because I had to keep restarting the level each time I missed it!! But eventually, after a couple of weeks I did it :D

Ah, the one with the huge slope.
I believe you have to slide down backwards in order to land in the opening. Thats how I managed it anyways.
Ya know there is technique to getting the second St. Francis Folly one if you read justin's walkthrough on TRC. My internet was so :cen: ing slow  :hea: and non responsive

This one was maddening because I play on Playstation (TR1 only), so every time I missed it I had to repeat 20 minutes of work... Until I stumbled upon a walkthrough which had a guaranteed method of getting it (found on Stella's site).
Anyway, one important point is finding the secrets poses two different forms of difficulty: 1) finding them (some are hard to find), and 2) technical execution. To me the hardest to find is probably the timed run in St. Francis Folly, or maybe the secret with the Magnums in the Coliseum (Which also has fairly high technical difficulty.) The most difficult technically are probably the 1st SFF, last Tomb of Tihocan or the 1st Great Pyramid, to name a few.
With a working solution for the SFF slide secret (formerly my most hated of them all), the award would have to go to the timed run in the same level.
On a side note, I once made the run for secret #4 in SFF and forgot to kill the Lions... I ran into the secret room WITH a Lion and had to jump around like a monkey shooting in the small room to avoid getting mauled. I made it out remarkably unscathed :D

Agh! I hate the timed run in SSF. I still haven't managed to get it.
I eventually got so mad that I just started killing Lara on purpose out of anger. :hea:
I also hate the timed run in Palace Midas ( I think ? ) for the uzis.
I passed the Magnums secret quite easy actually.
@Sgt BOMBULOUS: Wasn't the magnums secret in Palace Midas? If you are talking about the same secret that is, the one with the hidden switch/gate, and collapsing floor tile/teeth blade. In the garden with the gorillas I believe..

Well, the Magnums are first found in the Coliseum. The one with the pillars with square platforms on top of them (You have to run past the pillar and then make 4 right angle jumps). If you miss them there they will be in secret #3 in Midas.
Well i got all 49 secrets in the Revised TR1 version ;) same thing with all secrets in TR1.

Ah of course. I remember that now :D
And I always heard of there being a way to get the uzis in the Cistern, but I never found them...

I believe you can find the Uzi's the first time in Sanctuary of the Scion and that being a secret. They can be found on the invisble platform.

That's what i believe also but we both could be wrong.

I don't think I've ever gotten it, and replaying the entire beginning portion to keep trying is too tiresome.

The easiest method is the side/back flip method found here. http://www.trinity.westhost.com/tomb/scion/06w.html
I hate all timed runs. The corners, Lara, and I usually wind up in a three-way, spitting, name-calling brawl. :D

I've been stuck on that secret for a month now. It just gets so irritating having to redo 5-10 min of the level every time i screw up. Whose idea was it to make such an awkward and difficult secret ONE chance only!?

Do you play PC?
I never bother trying to find any timed secrets, so for me the hardest were the two slope-based secrets in St. Francis Folly. I used a different method for the second one. First, I slid down the longer slope forwards, and before I got to the end, I jumped onto the lower, shorter slope. Then I let her slide down the shorter slope and jumped off at the very end. That way I was able to get into that little secret alcove whatever it was. (Whether or not I had to grab the edge and pull up or if she just automatically landed in there I cannot recall.)
I think I tried doing the backflip method once before but for some reason she didn't make it. Maybe I wasn't close enough to the end.

Well the best method for the second one is to slide down backwards hang from the slide the long one pull up let lara slide and fall on the shorter one hold jump before she lands on the shorter one and after falling off the longer one and she should make it in the room if you keep jump held down.

Nah, I wouldn't be complaining as much if I had access to the "save anywhere" system. Someone should have placed a save crystal right before the slide though, would have made things so much easier. =/

Yeah out of all the secrets the second one in St. Francic' Folly was a *****
to get to, especially because when I first played it it was on the PS1 and ya had to replay the begining of the level again.:hea: At least on PC I could save right before the slide which made things 10x easier :D
