The creatures living in the depths of the ocean are as weird and outlandish as the creations in a Dr. Seuss book: tentacled transparent sea cucumbers, primitive "dumbos" that flap ear-like fins, and tubeworms that feed on oil deposits.

I have to admit, it is really stellar, but I would never get close to that thing. I'm a huge chicken when it comes to being underwater in oceans or ponds or lakes.

Gotta love Firefox. That, and being able to view BBCode when quoting posts. Nice try, but... (http://laughingsquid.com/wp-content/uploads/royal-fail.jpg)

:D Well just don't go swimming in any australian pools.

edit : sorry, I woke up middle of the night from a bad dream, it had a spider involved. So excuse me abberrating.

About them strange sea creatures - I love them. I can't even decide which are my favourites.
Dolphins, big whales, penguins, these dragonlike lizards that feed underwater from the Galapagos Islands, mantis shrimps, octopodi, kalmars, medusas, walrusses, sea turtles - you name 'em, I like 'em.
Just not those giant crabs that look like alien horror spiders from hell.

Probably those mantis shrimps are the coolest among them all. I have seen footage of one of them breaking the aquarium. "Something invisible blocking my way ? *poke, poke* What is this ? Take this! BAM!":vlol:

Also trouts are very

do you know what children so in pools
Well, anything that repels those pool-spiders is fine with me.

We've known about this for quite some time. The ocean's are home to some of the oldest species of life.

The depths of the sea are a real mystery. It's good to know that there are still unexplored areas and unidentified creatures. Science and technology, sure teach us a lot, but they also rationalize everything and we miss the magic of myths.

Same. I'd rather swim in a pool that people pee in than an ocean where I could run into one of these :p

Why, are you going to be diving well below 650 feet underwater?
That is the only way you would encounter one.

well, from what I know, we still haven't been able to go down to the deepest parts of the ocean yet, there's probably a lot more to find
