Gah, that sounds like so much fun!:D

It is. It's also a little odd, though. There are no border controls, there is a single rail ticket for all three countries (although I already have a different one for my part of Germany as well), there are trains crossing the borders every hour (except Aachen-Liège, which is every two hours only. They plan on fixing that, though), from the looks of it you'd think it's all tightly integrated. But as soon as you pass that invisible line, the countries start looking completely differently.

Those are the countries I've currently set foot in. :p Except Singapore, Thailand and Czech Republic, which I've only transitted through.

Next year will be a different story.

My map should look something like this by August 2010.

Those are my current plans, but I'm hoping I'll also be able to duck up to Sweden, see some more of Europe, and maybe the USA as well, depending on how I'm doing financially.

No border controls? LOL! I had the hardest time just getting into Canada! We had to go inside the building at the border and be questioned because my parents didn't bring any identification for my brother and I, so they thought we were being kidnapped. Fun times.:p

I thought I travelled quite a bit, but turns out I've seen 5.33 % of the world.

That's

Canada
United States
China
Indonesia
Japan
Malaysia
Singapore (I live there)
Taiwan
Thailand
Vietnam
Australia
The UK

Hong Kong isn't on the list. I guess it's considered to be part of China.

Hong Kong was returned to China in 1997.

As for your travel map; well you're nice and centrally located, so it would be easy for you to get everywhere. :D

No border controls? LOL! I had the hardest time just getting into Canada! We had to go inside the building at the border and be questioned because my parents didn't bring any identification for my brother and I, so they thought we were being kidnapped. Fun times.:p

I need to save up and head over to mainland Europe (since I'm going to Ireland and the UK in June)!:D

Yeah, border controls between all EU members as well as Switzerland, Norway and Iceland have been abolished. The only exceptions are Ireland and the UK, Ireland only because they have their own passport-free scheme with the UK and fully joining the Schengen accord (which regulates this all) would require starting border controls with Great Britain and Northern Ireland. As for why the UK don't join…*I guess because they're stupid. :D

I was actually asked for my ID on the train from Maastricht to Liège by the dutch police, but that is not something usual.

I've only been to countries inside the UK - England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales.

All that will change next June though when I go abroad for the first time (at the age of 29!). I'm going to Melbourne and Tazmania for my honeymoon.

You're getting married? Congratulations!!!

Here's a better, bigger map:

I'm glad you liked Greece. I haven't been to Kefalonia yet myself, but I plan to do so in the future.
I want to travel a lot as well. I hope that while I am young and childless, I will see most of the places I want to visit. If only I had more money to spend on journeys!

Unfortunately I haven't been out of the US, yet, but I have been to quite a few states. California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississipi, Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, & North Carolina. I had a flight layover in Ohio but I don't think that counts. :)

And in Greece too, if I'm not mistaken. (It's so small in the map, I'm not sure...)

Yes, Crete, Corfu (and the little islands of Paxos and Anti-Paxos), Kos and mainland Greece. ( I was excited to vist Pella!)

I haven't been out of the United States :( I live in the smallest state, I've also traveled somewhat far around the US. As far as Maine, and Florida...and the states in between.

*reads up on the Schengen Area*

From the pictures that I've seen, it looks like the borders between states here in the US. There's just a sign saying you're now in a new country!:p

But if you really think about it, you can't have seen the WHOLE place. For example I went to Thailand, which is pretty big on the map and I only visited 2 cities, and as you can imagine I only saw a small part of it.

I have been living in Athens since 5th grade, and there are still many areas I have yet to visit.
