Ok, i dunno if any of you have ever played a game called dawn of war. Its a real time strategy game.

Anyway, theres a faction/race called the Eldar. This is a picture of one of their buildings.

Im pretty sure thats an exact replica of the TR1 Save crystal inside the generator.

The Tomb Raider 1 save crystals are dark blue/purple and not as thin.
