View Full Version : Too Much Information?
I've been thinking about some of the recent threads. (And I have contributed to some of them.) But I'm getting a little bit worried about some of the information that is being asked for on different threads, like location and surnames as well as first names.
I'm not saying that anyone's intent (eg: members) is wrong - but the threads are wide open to anyone who is surfing the net. I am wondering whether too much information is being given out on casual chat?
Yes, you're right, John
Members beware, don't give out your whole name, your address, your telephone no, your age. We're just too vulnerable, unless we got a forum password over the whole thing, which ain't likely. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
Definately keep personal information at a distance. There are some younger people here too who could be vunerable to giving out this information. :(
I agree, there are just too many sick freaks out there looking for an open window. (not saying that everyone is)

It might be a good idea if members check their profiles to see what they are disclosing to the whole internet. (eg. your e-mail address and age.)
Yes John Falstaff, I completely agree. At tiems it worries me because there ARE prediators out there and they hunt for people that are vulnerable. I'm surprised some people even post their pic with so much confidence that it would remain safe from the eyes of those searching for some prey. Many times I've been asked my age, location, pic... And you have to be strong to say no. I might be a bit on the prudish side when it comes to disclosing information but a girls' got to take care of herself, ya know.
You guys are right, you have to be careful. That`s why I never gave out my location on one of the threads. It`s not that I don`t trust you guys. ...I just don`t trust the people who could be watching.
