View Full Version : 2009 - Reflection Time!
Well now that 2009 is coming to an end I think that all level builders and players should take some time to reflect on the past year!
There have been many new builders and lots of new levels released, new outfits and objects, new updates for the editor, lots of new stuff :D
What do you want for 2010! :cln:
Basically, this past year has been very crazy for me, I finally released my first levelset which went much better than expected! We have had tons of amazing new games this year, from PH's Wheels of Kathar to LaraCablara's Tomb Raider Expedition, and many new builders showing us promising stuff! :D I have started a new project and gotten so much done in less than 6 months, and I have learned so much about the editor!
For 2010, I hope to see some cool new updates for TRNG, maybe even TREP being updated again! :jmp: Lots of new builders, and even lots of older builders finally releasing their first levels (matrix54...:whi:)
And, this year, I think Po Yu has broken new ground with his Underworld outfit, and Trangel has rocked the outfit world with all his incredible brand new releases!!!
I can't even use the editor (as far as I know) for the time being, so yeah, once again, its at a stand still. :p But yeah, we all had a good year. I hope 2010 is better :mis:
It was an amazing year in terms of learning with the editor, before I even joined this forum I thought I had learnt the level editor, but when I came here I realized there was sooo much more to do with it:)
I am excited to release my first full level in early 2010:)
what can i say 2009 has been year of creation. i've grown so much in this year i can't even believe it. when trep was introduced, i saw an opportunity to see how far i can push the limits of the level editor, strpix, and meta. from my first set of outfits, i was pushing the limits with vertices surpassing 255, which imo looked great despite the huge problem caused by ugly shadows. those outfits gave me an chance to really develop my skills... which in my second set you see. I started with an origins outfit and hope to finish with my aod outfit. this year i also branched out to creating custom objects, although some aren't finish i hope they get to see the light of day in 2010
2010 will be another great year, i hope to push out many more outfits. more objects and release my first custom levels..."The Mansion" and "The Asylum"
I love that AOD outfit of yours Trangel, I might use it and put that head on all my outfits of my game :cln:
I've grown up a bit with TRLE this year and looking forward to 2010 :)
Wow trangel. This is a very interesting picture. At first your Lara had an Asian touch but from outfit to outfit you got better and your Aod-outfit is now your best. :jmp:
I had a wonderful year 2009.
Before 2009 I didn't even dare to use the LE. I was a player only. In April I tried out some things and saw that the LE is not THAT complicated. I don't know if I mentioned it already but I wouldn have never started if there wasn't the "One room contest". After playing these levels I found it amazing how much gameplay you can put into a single room so I tried it out...and kind of fell in love with the editor and the things you can do with it. And now the year 2009 is over and I'll publish my very first level soon :jmp:
Looking forward to a great 2010. I might start using Meta. :)
this year was an epic fail for me.
I cancelled Tomb raider Oblivion and started to build levels that came to my mind but were never actually near compltetion at all :(
Now I'm trying to find some new textures to create a level which is hardly seen in the TRLE...
I think another huge thing this year is that I finally got over my fear of AnimEdit and Meta (:p) And FINALLY nailed remapping outfits! :D!
Releasing my first game was a fun... but terrifying experience! OOoh, and another thing I forgot to mention, the release of Secrets of Nepal, one of my favorite Le games ever! :D
well I'm hoping to be included in what the forum think of when they think of level builders of 2010, if I can get TRNG and NGLE installed! lol
I've definitely learned a few new things in the level editor this year, next year (2010) I'm planning on releasing my Alice in Wonderland level in . Despite the lack of media I'm still working on it here and there. I'm not entirely sure if it's going to be released next year, but we'll see.
the lack of media
Screens, videos, updates, I haven't done that in a while. For my project. ;)
How could we all forget, we got some much new additions ot the editor.
Exibit A: A harpoon Gun :cln:
Exhibit: B Custom Flares!
Exhibit: B Custom Flares!
We had those for ages with TREP. :p Granted they weren't as customizable as TRNG flares, though.
