random yahoo article lol

Their results come from a comparison of two data sets of happiness levels in each state, one that relied on participants' self-reported well-being and the other an objective measure that took into account a state's weather, home prices and other factors that are known reasons to frown (or smile).

Address did not work, did you copy it from another forum? It appears to be truncated, so it brings you back to the yahoo search.

Least happiest state: New York. I can't imagine why :whi:

People sure love to hype New York on how great it is... yet the people there are the most unhappy? xD

Haha! New York is dead last. Not surprising really. I like it though. At least here in Upstate it's not so bad. :p

You've heard the phrase "It's nice to visit but you wouldn't want to live there" surely? :D

Interesting list.

Oh don't get me wrong, the state has plenty that's fun and interesting but in the winter time, forget it. Very depressing here. We can go weeks without seeing sunshine.

Right! ;) I'd still take a state that has all the full seasonal changes over one that doesn't any day. :p

It just show how happiness is subjective here. I'm surprised Cali got so low, after all the great things I hear my aunt says about it, how she loves it and how it has the best and has everything.
It has Hollywood and that's movie capital of the world, innit ? metropolitan cities, and quite a life of luxury for the most part.
Guess high priced homes and stuff are a factor.

It's so overrated! Not to mention earthquake alley! Thanks, but no thanks. I like my feet to be on solid ground.

The San Francisco area was nice when I visited, but I don't know if I'd ever want to go to Los Angeles.

Cali is way to expensive, when I was there I visited Japan town and they were trying to sell dvds for $40 each. Not to mention how much the price of apartments and houses are, its a joke.

Texas is number 16 on the list, which kind of surprised me. Oh, well. My state may not be the happiest state, but we are definently the friendliest state. :ton:

I was just making a play on words. Texas comes from the Indian word "tejas" which means "hello friend".

Well, there goes the myth California = L.A. :p.

BTW, i'm surprised Florida didn't win, because it's so sunny and stuff... But i guess Louisiana had it already, considering that it is the craddle of Britney Spears and Tabasco.

Well, it sure is a fact that for each celebrity there are at least over 9000 people that hates them for aparently no reason (i.e. Paris Hilton). That might have influenced the ranking.

Although whenever i hear about California, Come Clean comes to my mind :p.
